It was so much fun watching you set that up and wind your first hank of yarn on it! I can’t afford one, but I’m really glad you got one! Plus, I’m weird. I actually enjoy spreading a hank of yarn in my lap and winding it while I watch tv. Anyway, great video, Crystal!

I love when you show us (especially newbies) , new things that I didn't know existed. I've been staying away from hanked yarn, because I have a spine injury that effects my arms and hands. I can't hold my arms up past a certain angle without pain and my hand just quits doing what my brain tells it to. My son has to crank it for me. This would be a great addition to my list of things I want for Christmas, birthday anniversary etc. Crystal, I also wanted you to know I made my Mama a blanket for Mother's Day using every stitch I've learned (from you) and she loves it so much she cried. She told me it was her favorite present she ever received. Thank you so much for your kind teaching.

That is awesome. I would be caking yarn all night long. If I had a winder I would cake all of my skeins because I just love working with the cakes. Great video. Love it.

I have a winder that takes about 100g skein. Some yarn sticks to itself and is not suitable for centre pull but I cake everything else.

Im from New Zealand, Ashford is a great brand, love their wool yarn. Just as well you got it from US anyway, our plugs are very different to yours.

The plugs are the easy bit to change, it's voltage you need to watch. We have 230-240v here in NZ and the US has 110-120v.

Crystal, I just got the Stanwood hand crank you have and I love it! And a plus to keeping your hand crank is if you lose power you can still make beautiful cakes of yarn and keep crocheting!

It was so much fun watching you with the yarn baller! You reminded me of my ex landlord and his heavy equipment for the construction company he owns. I called his equipment adult Tonka Toys. He always had a huge smile when operating his loaders and digging machines. So now you have the adult YARNING TONKA TOY! You’re so good at addressing all the features, issues, resolving those, and just talking us through what to expect, how easy it is to set up, the little hiccups along the learning process of using the yarn winder. I belong to a group who crochets/knits for charity. We often will take scraps and cake them for our members to use. The older women especially like the variegated cakes because they don’t have to bother with coordinating colors. I am sure this will add immense joy to your yarn life! ❤️🧶
