Thornclaw, near the beginning of Warriors: Appears to be and is described as very loyal. Helps keep Squirrelpaw in line while Brambleclaw struggles. Thornclaw in the last series: finally mentioned again. But he joins the Dark Forest. Or doesn't?? Ivypool sees him there at one point, but in the last book, when the living ThunderClan cats training there are listed, he is not one of them. Nonetheless, Thornclaw will always have an edgy name and evil connotation when in fact he's just a cool dude. (gently correct me if i made any incorrect points please)

I don't remember seeing him in the dark forrest, and I don't think many people do. He has no evil connotation to me and most of the community. He's loyal brave strong and one of the only living connection to the older series left. If thornclaw was mentioned it was either a mistake or he was on the first night recruitment tour that everybody went on but then said no thanks I'm ight fam, I don't want to brag or anything but I'm already kinda a fucking badass, and I don't really have time anyway too many patrols man. Then walks out and never thinks about it again.

Just the fact that Ashfur is related to Squirrelflight at all puts me off his character after everything he did. You can say the Erins don't care about inbreeding, but then I'd point out how Dovewing went with one of the only toms in the Clan who isn't related to her, and Ivypool was previously going to be with Foxleap, until the Erins realised that "oh shit, they're related, can't have that in a book about cats"

I'm pretty sure that not only did 2/3rds of the Erins not know who sandstorms parents are, but them being related was also not initially intended. if it makes you feel any better, the fact that brindleface is sandstorms mother is never brought up, and only mentioned as an afterthought by Vickie later on. if you only go by book canon, sandstorm has no parents

lol I hate to be the one to state the obvious, but I think everyone misconstrues what went down with Hollyleaf and Ashfur. From what I've gathered (I haven't actually read the power of three for a very long time, though) Ashfur really was there first. Hollyleaf went up to him and was like "hey, ur a bitch" and they got into a tussle. Hollyleaf of course killed him. Accident? No. Justifiable? Sort of. You could argue it was self defense. What really gets me panties in a knot though is when people think that Hollyleaf was some kind of bloodthirsty psychopath who loved killing Ashfur lmao she was pissed terrified. She most likely planned on telling everyone Leafpool's secret. She did not kill Ashfur to stop him from telling, that's for sure. Some people still think that, I think. That would conflict with her motives, though. Hollyleaf wasn't a villain, just a cat who made some bad decisions. That what I wholeheartedly believe the Erins intended. Now come at me, Hollyleaf haters. >;)

You can't really say it was self defense. Here's how she kills him: "She was stalking Ashfur along the WindClan border stream, treading lightly, avoiding boulders where her claws might scrape or ferns that would brush against her fur. Ashfur, intent on hunting, never noticed she was there. Hollyleaf followed him like a shadow until they came to a place where the bank was steep and slippery, and the stream was a foaming snake far below. She pounced on him from a rock, gripping his shoulders with her forepaws and twisting her head around to sink her teeth into his throat. Inside the red mist that clouded her senses, Ashfur was nothing but prey, something that had to be killed to protect the warrior code and the future of the Clan."

For those of you asking why Ashfur's hair is blonde, Moonkitti had an account on the warrior cat forums, and had her profile pic as Ashfur. She tried to change it later, but it wouldn't work so she's stuck as Ashfur forever now.

From what I know, the scene with him in the fire was one of the first scenes written for all of power of three. His turn to villain was 100% planned in that series.

Moonkitti Yeah :D But i like him as a character and i think he wouldn't have left Squirrel because of the kits drama unlike Bramblestar :/ I like Bramblestar don't get me wrong but i didn'T trust him for the first ad a part of the second series :x.
