After seeing the recent blue lock episodes. I can say when it comes to animating during a match AoAshi did it better.

The editing of this video brought down the intensity a lot. The anime itself was still pretty intense

it's because of the editing, it's a lot better when you see the whole thing uninterrupted

Not sure if you read the manga, but it has full lineups before matches. They cut it from anime to save runtime and the tactis are therefore not super clear. Esperion plays 4 back with fairly aggressive FBs almost exclusively. They play that way in this match too. I think their formation is usually 4-3-3 with either ACM or DCM depending on the match. Also Kuribayashi is a midfielder (ACM usually) and Togashi, while he is confirmed to be able to play LB (same position as Ashito) never played FB in a match we saw. What system is Fukuda ultimately going for should be revealed in S2.

@@argo9750 there is one time togashi is played as rwb. When in the middle of the match they decided to change the formation with 3 CBs resulting Aoi and Togashi to play further forward and Togashi scored header goal by ashito assist. Fukuda system itself *spoiler alert* . . . . . . I think it just the basic 433 pep tiki taka with inverted full back (Aoi) and uses the half spaces so the pitch can be divided by 5 zones horizontally

@@argo9750 it's different. It's already animated but I forgot which episode that is. Basically when ashito need to choose 1 several option, he didn't pass to tachibana because he was offside.

The stress is way higher than those, because he has no time to waste and catch up. I love blue lock but it's way less in terms of realism and the tension is only momentarily

I love DnA as well,I think I fell in love with Ao Ashi because they suit my taste(I did try blue lock,but it got tiring later on that I stopped at chap 90+) Sawamura's yips arc after that loss in Inashiro(where MC doesnt always get it right) and Ashito being told to change position (which he expected he'd play and is fooled into playing ge would)and his foul? against another top player forcing him to sit and watch(very similar to Sawamura's situation where he realized he cant pitch to the inside vs Yakushi) It was amazing.

That's why I hate Blue Lock and its fans. Blue Lock is highly unrealistic, and Ao Ashi is pretty much realistic. These fans are just irritating.

Fukuda is clearly going for Tuchel's 343 where the wing backs are the main goalscorers (Chilwell and James under Tuchel). There's no CAM role in a 343 and Yoshitsune-Kuribayashi-Yuma would be the 3 forwards as I see it. Ashito is unfit in the front 3 because of his lack of on the ball abilities and lack of a speed boost

​@@TD14AH well no... Spoilers below He was never planned to be in an attacking position, he hasn't got the right qualities. Fukuda wanted him to be a CDM but since that role is way more reliant on defensive skill (and at the time Ashito wasn't even a defender) he decided to make him a fullback since they can also attack and you can worry less about opponents attackers (they face less attackers than a CDM)

@@trumpler9191 I don't think that would've been the case, Aoashi's anime adaptation felt a bit too tame but hopefully if it gets a Season 2 we get more intensity and even better animation - the whole Team A arc up until the Aomori match is nothing but intense

Ashito starts figuring out what his the path he needs to take on the team and as player but she callout for being obsessed with soccer which cause to preform badly and have more than 100 of chapters of him playing mediocre because of his performance he spends alot of chapters having to relearn everything. Not to mention losing his sight in process. The Manga slowly becomes more romantic centric. Not severely so but enough to make you uncomfortable. Still a good read but it gets really bad at times.

Depends what you're looking for, as a football enjoyer, Ao Ashi (Manga) is vastly superior to blue lock imo, as a survival/shonen enjoyer tho, i get why Blue Lock is popular since it put less focus on football, strategy... and more on action
