Great Great Great conversation..we need more evangelists of politically agnostic solutions for black people. We follow solutions and not political powers...that will make us as a people a bigger threat and a group to negotiate with vs take for granted. So much food for thought as we head into 2024. Thx again for another insightful discussion.

48:41 the fact that there was a sporting center 100% financed by Black people, says that racism can no longer hold us back. We are held back when we choose to do nothing. We can't keep blaming others are telling our community they are not getting lending because they're Black. I love this story about the possibilities of what we can do.

I admire the fact that he has been able to transcend labels. I hate when people try to make Black people feel like they're doing something wrong when they are not Democrat. It is so ignorant. We have got to educate ourselves on how the financial systems work in the US. We have got to become financially literate. Please read "The Color of Money." It's not as simple as discriminating against Blacks for lending. The deeper issue is discrimination against the behaviors that are prevalent in the Black community. When will we hold our communities responsible for doing their part? Opening more Black banks will not solve the lending problem. Lending to a community of financially illiterate people, will shut a Black bank down. The answer is in healing and educating our communities. I can not stress this enough. I love the person to person lending idea.

28:20 people don't trust banks because of rhetoric like this. I have NEVER been declined for a loan because I'm Black. I have been declined for a loan because I am a Black person who didn't have my credit AND finances together. I had to educate myself on the financial system and now I get it. I no longer get declined. This brother is very educated but he's missing something. He is mixing truth with gaslighting. Our community deserves the whole truth. We deserve better. I see so many Black people who don't subscribe to a victim mentality get lending, buy homes, gain access private equity, who are building wealth, etc. Let's change the narrative. Brandi asked the right questions. His answers were filled with race baiting. His answers are keeping some Black people in mental bondage. He keeps telling us that we can't access the financial system because we are Black. That's not true in 2023 going into 2024. At this stage, it's us, not them. There's so much to unpack.

Guaranteed that your approved loan interest rate WAS NOT as good as a privileged person. He is speaking about an even playing field. You have a "I'm going to take what they give me and make it work" mentality. He's speaking from a person who has had EYES on the paperwork, the statistics the system. I also have had approved loans and I know what he's saying to be true.

We need to also stop creating wealth with and for other communities. We spend so much with others . The dollar stays in the black community 6 hours. Other communities the dollar stays in there communities for days. 😢

Black banks abide by the same regulations as the non-black banks . So getting money from them won't be any easier. Its legislation that needs to be changed and made to be more inclusive but also teaching black people finacial literacy bith personal and business wise to be able to be fundable.
@Simply_JustKim

Red lining isn’t a regulation. I think what he’s saying that if you have good credit, the ability to pay back the loan you borrow and you can meet the underwriting requirements. You wont be denied because of color. I teach financial literacy and most people of color say they want to it, but are unwilling to sacrifice and be disciplined in their finances. Look up the Rule of 72 and see how it impacts your investments? Most people don’t understand compound interest. We are more interested in looking at things instead of being the thing. 😊

@Triplenet_Agent 20 күн бұрын
@Simply_JustKim I am a Commercial Real Estate Broker, hence the name and Appraiser . I am fully aware of what redlining is. Again, the guidelines will be the same for a black owned bank . To be honest with black owned banks we are likely to experience harsher scrutiny . There is a reason alternative financing exist ( they can provide funding that the bank won't). As I stated above black people also need to learn personal and business financial literacy.

43:50 - I complete disagree with this statement. We do not need other communities (allies) assistance. Don't sell that integrationist Kool-Aid brother. There is plenty of resources inside the community to push us to new heights. We need a committment from ourselves to cooperate with eachother. That's all we need... Ouside of this short statement, this brother is certainly on the right track...
