Ahhhh the gold days of garbage trucks when I was 3,4 and 5 I loved this video

the grey can contains old baby bottles and clothing as well as the normal household trash the baby stroller has a teletubby a stuffed bear and a draw on me bear. A Rubbermaid lid and a cheap broken baby stroller with some stuffed dogs go in next followed by a broken shopping cart a bathtub holder for babies and a trike for our oldest son (who is kindly helping the trash man load the garbage) The green can contains some of his old toys from a closet in the new nursery.

I can't imagine being a garbage truck operator. It is literally the last job I would ever want. Unless I get to sort through the items and keep what I want. I believe it would be the saddest and cruelest job.

That is some nice stuff there. Have you ever heard of Goodwill. Not everybody is as fortunate to have everything brand new.

On Tuesday 26,3,24 on my general waste collection there was a lot of toys out for rubbish from a lot of houses

The clear bag that tears as it goes in contains some pom poms and baby blankets You can see the crushed toys as the blade retracts to compact the rest of the garbage before the final can containing random toys and the rest of the household trash is dumped before the truck moves on

goodwill does not fix broken toys they toss them along with a good number of working toys. A slight nick or scraatch into the dumpster it goes for dolls a smudge or if they are missing any clothes into the dumpster and if they don't sell within a certant time you guessed it into the dumpster. Goodwill trashes more toys than you might think

The toys were sitting next to the cans for 24 hours before pickup anyone who wanted them could have taken them no one did because they were used up rubbish that belonged in the trash

On Monday 22,4,24 there was a lot of toys thrown away on my grey general waste collection day and also a lot clothes socks and undies ect

If the poor wanted them they could have taken them before the trash truck got there

I purged my whole collection of nylon sportswear. It's time to move on to let things go. I ended up with 130 bags full of pants, shorts, windbreaker jackets and coats. Tomorrow I start bringing all the bags to the end of the driveway for Mondays trash pickup just like the video here.

On 22,11,22 plenty of toys out for bin men at varios houses

I'm in tears right now watching all those beautiful toys being smashed into unusable garbage!!! What in the world were you thinking??? Those toys would have made soooo many children happy!

A 3 tiered plastic storage unit with a stuffed rabbit joins the pile in the truck. The playpen contains a variety of plastic toys Barbie's and accessories many of them broken a giant stuffed dog goes in next to it. A doll stroller and a Raggedy Anne with a pull-up and t-shirt that says I'm a big girl now on it that we gave to Ashley when she was potty training is unceremoniously tossed on top of the giant dog followed by a collapsed box and a clear bag containing plastic McDonalds toys.

I agree such a waste and i think it's quite sad when I'm out and about and see kids toys just left out with the rubbish but I'm amazed at how many toys Ashley must have had judging by the amount that is going in the back of the truck. She certainly had a good clearout and made her mind up what she didn't want - I used to hate throwing out toys, so did my sister in the end it was often mum who would throw our stuff out

Ashley had outgrown them and decided to get rid of them she was not forced to throw anything away she still wanted. She simply did not want any of her old toys so they went into the trash

I would hardly call it child abuse for all you know the child is 18 and no longer in the house

They made a PERFECT donation right there!

Ya they can pop as loud as balloon too! There's one garbage truck that the compactor comes down so fast that it causes the air inside the bag to be trapped, thus causing the bags to pop instantly!

So satisfying, also watched this when I was young and it was one of my favorites

On Wensday 18 ,7 21 On my general waste round there was lots of toys thrown away today . there was a Barbie car in one wheelie bin and in a wheelie bin a few houses down there was a bag of assorted toys and teddy bears

How do you know if this was parent disapline for not cleaning her room. My parents did that when I was little. It is still a waste of perfectly good toys that could have been used by children.

some of you people are going crazy... Here is how it goes, those men placed the toys in the garbage truck then the compactor did its job and squashed them into a little cube and nothing you people put on this comment board is going to unsmash those toys. Besides, even if some of the toys made it into the thrift store if they were donated, most of them would have the same fate behind the thrift store!

i come across piles like this very very often and its usually the toys that have sat in the basement or outside for monthes if not years, moldy, dirty,ruined, i would be disguisted and embarrased to give anything like that to my child, very seldom is there anything even worth keeping. you people dont know whats wrong with them, maybe they did try to tag sale them and people didnt want them.

The clear bag had some stuffed animals and doll clothes. The three bags thrown in next 2 contained more of her cabbage patch dolls the final one had the rest of the cabbage patch dolls (she had 24 or so in all) and some dirty diapers. The garbage man tosses in a clear bag with her teddy bear collection. Next in is an old broken high chair and 2 bags containing Ashley's care bears and pound puppies.

I think this is HILARIOUS. Especially how this whole thing gets taped.

As the blade is released to begin compacting the toys a broken baby stroller is tossed in. The blade scoops the trash into the truck to make room for a stuffed rabbit a 1-2-3 trike and a big wheel as well as an old baby walker. The basked containing some small dolls joins the new pile. The tray to the high chair and a doll playpen containing a stuffed bear is tossed in as the blade returns to its rest position further crushing the toys.

It's no wonder are planet is going to crap because of people like this poster who take pride in being wasteful. This is just sick to see so many good toys that poor kids would love to have, getting destroyed. As a member of the Salvation Army, I think this isn't right. I don't know why the garbage men didn't leave it behind as it probably exceeded the city's bag limit.

I worked for Waste Management for almost 5 yrs....as far as I know...people are not aloud to help load the trucks...and what the hell is that guy thinking hold shit in with the blade coming down!! Guess he doesn't really need both hands. Also...must be nice to have a hopper that does both stages without a safety button to hold.

I AM ABSOLUTELY APPALLED. Yes, get rid of clutter and things you dont need anymore but DONATE them to less fortunate people. I KNOW SEVERAL people who could have used many of those items. This is the epitomy of why people hate "greedy materialistic egotistical" Americans. How can I blame them when I see this kind of video?

Old cabbage patch dolls, pound puppies, etc. is not garbage. Seriously! What was wrong with the ride-on toys? Throwing away a whole bear collection??? It may not have been treasured items to you, but I couldn't toss my children's sentimental stuff like that. And you can drive behind any Goodwill store around this area and not see ANYTHING waiting to be crushed behind the store... they have plenty of icky stuff sitting around INSIDE the store, waiting for the perfect second owner.
