The year is 2014. Two old salts and me sail to Cuba with several cameras to document her as she breathes now before diplomatic relations inevitably alter this time-capsuled country forever. The reasons we fell in love with Cuba are the exact reasons why it will have to change since the influx of Yankees won’t want to drive a rented rusty sedan, stay in someone’s house or eat in someone’s living room like we did.

I stayed one month in Cuba two years ago. Standing near the old Spanish fort and seeing hundreds of American Fifties' cars running felt like being in the middle of an old Hollywood movie.

A beautifully done documentary and film. What a story your film has shown the world. Governments can invent systems but the soul of human beings shines forth and your film has shown just that condition. Thanks so much to you all for a great film and story.

Ive met someone who lives in Havana, weve fallen in love, as soon as this outbreak is over I will be in Havana. I never thought I would fall in love with someone that didnt live in my town much less my country. They are such amazing people, not tarnished like the rest of the world.

I sailed into the south of Cuba (Cayo Largo) aboard a Danish schooner in 1996, from there to Trinidad. Speaking some Spanish helped a lot to understand her people and their way of life. This is an excellent video to give you a slice of Cuban life and get a feel for the great Cuban soul and spirit. Go now to Cuba if you can and enjoy the innocence and genuine friendliness of her great folk.

We loved Cuba in 2003. Finding somewhere to eat led me to using one of my pockets for leftover food to provide a snack for later. Music was wonderful, old buildings gorgeous even tho' badly in need of TLC. Would love to go there again - if COVID ever ends.

This is an amazing journey. I felt such a deep connection with the Cuban people even though I've never been there and nor am I remotely Cuban. I'm an Indian. I almost wanted to reach in and be there .. and hug them! Reminds me of the times I'd be visiting my grandfather in Kharagpur, West Bengal for my summer vacations.

Even though we left Cuba when I was 5 m always nostalgic about it. It makes me sad but whenever I have been there not having any family that I know of I still feel at home. Great documentary. God job!

Thank you! From someone in the UK who once learned these lessons after a month on Salisbury Plain in 1984 but who appreciated being reminded once again.
