You are using it wrong 250 degree is best temperature And copper bits are best Use rosin flux and wire braid to clean bit Still soldering stations are best no doubt

This is the great soldering iron. Your particular one is with faulty control circuit. Tip is not tinned becauae of faulty FULL OF HEAT. Its tips and ceramic heaters are cheaply availale and can get proper heat within 10 seconds. Heater is very durable to efficient. You can buy an soldering iron, 20 bits and couple of ceramic heaters within Rs.700 to 800 and it lasts years.

In this type of temperature control, the temperature of the soldering iron bit is controlled by an electronic circuit, so the diode will not work. Where the AC supply goes directly to the heating element the diode works by cutting the AC half cycle.
