That is because US television shows believe that sex and drama sells. If it isn't they believe no one will want to watch it. Half of the dramatic scenes are scripted or they have everyone pause and refill if the bad girl was being nice and the girl labeled the angel wasn't playing her role.

+Sophiesticated personally i find she has a slightly masculine face, and the long hair complimented her feminine side, she looked strong and sexy. With the short her she just looked androgyn :/ which would really put her in small space of whats possible for her has a model.

+Thekla Maria I have to agree to a degree. I feel that they cut her hair for the exact reason you stated. Her face is very strong so the hair was kind of a hinderance, Cutting opened her face up a lot more, and they left enough hair on her head to be versitle enough for extentions etc. I think she looked way more High fashion with the shorter look.

Ro Illustrations i think regarding high fashion, she would also be able to pull of Glamour, which i personally don't think she can do that well with a "masculine " hair cut and a slightly androgyn face. I do get what you are saying, but i just strongly see that she is now in a specific cupboard together with other androgyn models, and that won't give her as many possibilities... especially if she didnt choose that look herself, i think its different of course if that style is just what you identify yourself as. But anyway, it doesnt matter, by now she might have learned to love it or grow it out :D

I agree. It's very aggressive to cut people's hair like that, it can break someone's spirit. And it's "only hair" when your carrier doesn't depend manly on your look. For them it brings also a profissional anxiety.

I think part of the reason as to why they cut the girls hair so out of the blue like that is because in the fashion industry, trends can come and go quickly and so the girls have to be prepared to be in a harsh field like that.

Hairstylist are not dermatologist and will go full on coloring, cutting and bleaching hair just to get that look that they don't really mind about the damage that it will make for the model. I feel like the made such extreme hairstyles and bleached her hair on purpose to have them crying on tv

+mike12june Yeah, that's what I always thought! When I watched first cycle of Asia's Next Top Model, I was like, wow, these girls are actually nice to each other. One of the girls got to go shopping as a reward for winning a challenge, and instead of buying herself an expensive cosmetics or clothes or whatever, she bought gifts for all the girls in the house. That was just sooo cute.

Taking that away from someone is horrible and difficult to accept...and quite frankly it IS wrong, and don't tell me they don't have the right to be proud of their hair!!! Growing and grooming hair is difficult and thats why we are proud of it. They cut their hair because it doesnt define their femininity ??? BULLSHIT, they cut the hair for the ratings.
