As a person that is apart of the Asian community, I can fully confirm this is mostly how Asian parents act. Maybe the plastic containers are going a bit far, we don't use plastic containers for buffets, we use the containers that restaurants give us, we usually don't use containers for buffets, only for restaurants, and we usually don't bring our own container since we can just use free containers that the restaurant most likely already has

I’m asian and i can say this is true when we went to a restaurant when i was 5, my parents would say i was 3 years old because i’m very short and they said that i was 3 for like 3 years because i was that short.
