I have an Italian grandma and one time after school she made me and my sister lunch and I said: “I’m not hungry” and my grandma said back to me: “sweetie are you trying to put me in the grave?” I said no and ended up eating 3 plates of food.

😂😂😂😂 so relatable. I am italian, and one time my nonna cooked cullurialli (which is like potato dough fried) and I refused to eat some because I was on diet. She didn't talk to me for 2 days. She was right tho! Can't wait to be the perfect italian grandma and stuff my grandchildren with food 😍

Cheers from Italy

@edgarjx1 nope, sadly our history hasn't been so kind to Native Americans OR Black people, but we've always been a place where people from Europe (Italians, Spanish, French, etc) and from other Latin America countries immigrate to. Even though there are more natives in what we call "the interior" of the country (not the capital, more in the north), most of us have white ancestors. We're still latinos though

The food and then became multi-regionaland people didn't have the money sometimes for things like chicken or even potatoes as many came here during the great depression or 15 to 20 years before. Yes! me and my family have been praying for ✝️🇮🇹 so I hope you and your family are safe ✝️🇮🇹. please read this maybe you guys over there will understand how we are NOT italian and how we ARE in a way. This is how we are americans ♥️🇺🇸. Many of us had to assimilate and love this country so we don't really care to speak Italian in our homes. We know pre industrial italian or bastardized versions. Our food has multi-regional elements from Sicily to Piemonte. You will see a family of half Lingurian, half abruzzese descent mixing food and passing it down. Carbs meet the demand for blue collar work today around 5. Sunday dinners usually start between 2 and 4 but that's usually the only day you really get to have family. Many of us are working class some of us are really successful. Many people hate us and think we are criminals. This is how we are♥️ 🇮🇹. we have much closer family's than most ethnicities we usually choose to live within close proximity to our grandparents and cousins and a similar ethicity sometimes follows in closeness to us, (French, greeks, Portuguese). Some of us have 3 generations in a house here in the north. Many of us trusts family before the authorities or the the church. Some of us believe in the evil eye stregheria, we believe in blending in and respecting the customs of where we are and to uphold them. We have made the choice in some areas to bring italian to schools with italian american populations to revive a sense of culture. This is how it was for my family and my journey in the self segregated north. We pray for Italy🇮🇹✝️🇮🇹 please be safe on lockdown🙏✝️. Dont get sick!

I dont know, something normal and simple". she didnt say a word back but she was noticibly perturbed. well she went to sams club the next day and bought a pack of like 100 hot dogs, and i was NOT allowed to eat ANYTHING but "NORMAL" food (hotdogs) until they were gone. meanwhile she still cooked the delicious big meals for everyone else. moral of the story? My family's Croatian but I can still definitely relate! My grandma would always make like a WHOLE FEAST for just me, and if I'm full and don't want anymore food, my grandparents would just start asking me like "wHAT yOu nO LikE It?" And then I'd have to eat it 'cause I didn't wanna offend them, so I'd get fat and roll back home.

I'm Mexican but my great great grandfather was Italian and I really do feel a connection with Italian food 😂 I did get to grow up around my great grandmother Maria Antonietta and she was half Mexican half Italian and she was always in the kitchen making delicious Mexican food sadly she didn't know any Italian dishes that I can remember or maybe I never asked because she lived in Mexico.

My mom’s entire family is from Italy, Greece or Argentina and my dad’s side is mostly Irish, French, and American. Me, my brother, my dad and basically everyone else from my dad's side except my great grandparents who were from Ireland were born in America and the family that does live in the United States lives in Boston Massachusetts which my family hates because of the cold weather and the snow. But we don’t plan on moving any time soon.

I'm Italian Canadian, and there's definitely a lot more 'lingo' in our culture than this. Also, my grandparents mostly speak Italian and they have their own character traits that are hilarious. Also also I don't need tanning lotion, half an hour in the sun and I'm 20 shades darker.
