Ask an herbalist: Natural pain relief, herb safety, & more!

In this quick video I jabber about herbs that are good for dealing with pain and inflammation, why using a singular herb internally one at a time is preferred over complex formulas, and how sometimes our brains can be pretty powerful at making us feel reactions that a plant may not have actually caused!
Want to ask your own question? Simply follow the link in my bio to my website and click on the "ask an herbalist" option!
Please note in o way shape or form does this video or any of my videos constitute medical advice, replace the need to see a medical doctor nor or they intended to treat, cure or diagnoses. Always speak with your primary medical caregiver before starting any herbal regiment.

interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about how do you relieve chronic pain naturally? try Proutklarton Blade Card Plan (do a search on google )? It is an awesome one off guide for discovering how to make the best survival food minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cousin got excellent success with it.

I HATE watching your videos. I'm a small farmer and switching from the over crowded field of veggies to herbs and spices. So many times I watch a video and think....I've been trying to kill that weed for years....burdock, polk weed, wild lettuce, dock weed....the list goes on....duuuuuuhhhhhh. Thank you for opening my eyes to the world of weeds and ignorance I've been living in. Love your videos Stay beautiful and keep informing us. Love in spirit

Do you know of a trusted place to get seed to grow my own plants ? I'm in Las Vegas and I would love to grow my own plantain . And stevia . And a few others. I have tried to get some seeds from Etsy twice and non , not one single plant sprouted, and they cost the same amount as seeds for my veggie garden , but they only sent like five seed's so that makes it very éxspencive

@@dianejoyce7667 las vegas might be too hot to sprout lots of perennial plants. You might try putting the seeds in your freezer a few weeks before tryinb to sprout them. I thjnk your best bet is to collect some local seeds or look up a local natropath or herbalist to buy from as they would kniw more about growing plants in your relativly dry hot climate. Have you looked into traditional american indian medicines from thd region? They would be garanteed to thrive in the desert without any special gardening skills or knowledge.

I loved this! I was referred by a Facebook Herbals group and was wary. Your down-to-earth attitude and firm awareness that some people can be allergic or sensitive to herbals and should go to a doctor if a reaction indicates is refreshing. I have allergies to pine, chamomile, aloe - and vodka and am old enough to want to react with an old-granny smack when people give me the u-huh, smirk & roll their eyes. Luckily, age has slowed my physical responses down enough that my brain can intervene to avoid micro-violence 😅 Anyhow - love what you're doing - keep it up!

If you have an ethnic market or a Russian/Slavic market nearby, they have some great sardines and caviar that are full of good fatty fish oils. There are smoked shprati which are like sardines but even tastier, and they will always have delicious salmon caviar, sometimes even locally caught and processed. Best of all, they tend to be more affordable than regular supermarkets.

April I love the way you answered the last question. I have anxiety as well and I think you showed so much empathy and genuine care for a fellow person living with it. My social anxiety severely upticked over the last 3 years with all we've been through as a society, but I'm working back through it now. Almost couldn't stand to leave the house and walk through the grocery store. What helps me is remembering to be easy on myself and do what I can to stay centered when I'm feeling the anxiety start to rise.

My ongoing question has been about rinsing the herbs to cleanse first and the moisture content created especially in those that you discuss pulling too much water from fresh plant matter leading to mold mildew or fermentation
@sheisofthewoods
@sheisofthewoods 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get & reply to this question a lot. Plants aren't dirty, you've just been conditioned to fear the microbiome so there's no need to wash them. If a plant is in fact visibly dirty don't gather them😉 As far as fermentation goes this is only a factor with honey as sugar (or salt) has to be present for bacteria to ferment anything. With oils wet plants cause mold/fungus/yeast/rancidity.

I know this video is almost 2 years old, but forgive me, I just discovered you! I wanted to comment in support of your talking about the sugar effecting the brain - I just got diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I've never really had any issues before but I realized one day something wasn't right in my head that was outside of the normal mood issues I generally struggle with... I could just tell that the last 6 months or so, something was off *chemically* in my brain. It wasn't the normal blah and depression. It was if I was brainless. My brain was not working while I was awake (This is what it felt like, I mean). I was totally dazed and could not think and I could not even motivate myself to stand up from a chair, let alone get anything done. I just could tell it was chemical somehow. Out of curiosity one day, I decided to check my blood sugar level with my spouse's meter and was shocked to see it almost 400 which is an extremely dangerous level. (100 is "normal") I immediately had bloodwork done and the A1c level (which is what measures what your blood sugar has been for the past several months, rather than 'right now') and it was extremely high indicating that I had been having high blood sugar for a few months now. As soon as I got my blood sugar under control, my brain started feeling better. So yeah, sugar has so much to do with brain function, I think.

It really does! This is also basically what happened to my Dad and one day why he was having basically an emotional melt down that was not the norm/almost child like I just looked at him & said "Dad I think you've got diabetes" and sure enough his blood sugar was in the 400 range too!

I like your videos a lot I stumbled across your show and I really like it it's very informative I don't understand why everybody has to say I should say is forced to say in order to keep their KZfaq add or tik Tok channels up do you have to say no I'm not a doctor spiel not all doctors know what the hell they're talking about first of all they might have went to medicine School but I believe in natural remedies/medicine I think a lot of the times that doctors like to shove all sorts of "medicine"and or prescriptions that either keep people dependent on modern medicine or make things a lot worse, sorry so long, anyways I I really like what you have to say thank you for the information!
