My goodness, I love Q&A's with Mama Shapiro!! My favorite Bible story is also the story of Joseph, so that's cool! I am a conservative Christian and was raised in a very solid church that taught a ton from the Old Testament, and I think that is something that is HUGELY missing from Christianity today. The OT, I feel, is crucial to our understand of God's character. I LOVE that the OT is FULL of fallen, broken, messed up people, yet God is faithful and merciful and LOVES His people.

i’m in my early 20’s and I wish i was able to have these videos as a young girl in highschool. I tried so hard to be like other kids my age and made regrettable decisions. As i’ve grown and developed my own identity as a young woman I realize i have different values than the people i surrounded myself with when i was in my teens. I’m very grateful for your channel and all the advice you give here! I feel very seen and valid in my ways because you are so outspoken about yours.

Also as for parenting I really love how your mom said it’s okay not to be perfect and to pull and ask questions from parents around you that you may look up to, and for me I only have 1 child a 3 year old boy and my upbringing was veryy different I was raised by a single father, and the biggest thing that helps is #1 being present and intentional with your time, kinda like you said having your priorities in place, for us it’s been amazing seeing our son naturally gravitate towards God because He see’s us praying and hears us praying and he says Amen and He even started saying his own prayers listing all the things he’s thankful for, and reading to him the Bible, I constantly pray over him and our family because God has blessed us so much I just want to please God and make him proud of how we embraced everything he has given us ❤️❤️❤️

My dad always makes an effort to go to school events for us. He's a doctor and is really busy, but he says seeing us do these events is more important.

Love the advice. I especially loved the things you would change if you could go back. Hindsight is 20/20 and I know I'm going to have things I wish I had done differently. Honestly, there already are things I would do differently if I could go back and I've only been a parent for 8 years. My husband and I married at age 25 and started having kids immediately with no regrets. We now have 5 kids and counting. ☺️

I'm a Muslim but my favorite story, though not mentioned in the biblical Canon, is the story of Moses meeting al khidr, a Saint who possessed divine knowledge. Its an amazing story and it served as inspiration for Luke and Yoda dynamic in episode 5. And Carl Jung analyzed this story in one of his books I believe.

Abby, if you haven't read the trilogy Thorn In My Heart by Liz Curtis Higgs, you should. It is based on the story of Jacob, Leah, and Rachel, but set in the 1700's in Scotland. Amazingly, she weaves the story that actually fits the biblical narrative. Highly recommend!

Love this video but I will respectfully disagree with when you said "God made us imperfect otherwise we wouldn't need Him." If that was so then it would be unjust for Him to send people to hell coz He made us that way. He'd also be sinning by making us with a sinful nature. No, God is just and perfect and He cannot create what He abhors.
