1. What is the difference between hot and cold therapy (i.e. sweating the leg and icing or cold hosing, respectively), and under what circumstances should each be used?
2. How do you break down and interpret the guaranteed analysis on a feed label?
3. I know during the fall and winter it is a lot easier for horses to become dehydrated. Because of the cooler temperatures, they aren't as inclined to drink their water as they are in the hotter months. This was the reason my horse got impaction colic last week. It was a very scary experience and I really don't want it to happen again. What are some ways to encourage horses to drink during the fall and winter months and make sure they stay hydrated, other than keeping fresh water in front of them all the time and providing a salt lick?
4. When should you switch your horse to a senior feed?
5. Are round bales healthy enough for horses to eat? Do they provide enough minerals to help maintain a healthy diet in horses?

I have a question about my horse last year my horse had fungus how do I prevented this year

ayden w foot fungus? If so, it's genuinely obvious. Let's start with paddock. Mostly, I find at my barn, the area around that hay and Gate get knee deep in mud. Lots of bacteria, mud and bad, wet hay. To prevent that, move your hay placements. For two weeks let's say, put it in the bottom right corner. The next 2 weeks, in the middle, so one and so fourth, so they arnt standing in it all the time. For stalling, clean the stall everyday. Befor putting your horse in, check the feet, and befor you turn out. Hopes this helps even though, it's very late. :)

What do you do to get loose poo (has been seen by a vet) off of your horses tail and rear end in winter?

I live on a farm with some people. They have five horses. Four adults and one female foal. (So cute). But their water trough is shaped oblong and it all concrete. The problem is the water they drink from it gets so icy cold (but not frozen) in the Fall and winter season months. How can I get the water somewhat warm for them to drink, other than going out to buy a water heater that is expensive. How can I get the water lukewarm for them to drink? And by the way three mares are pregnant.☹️ I hope any suggestion you give me will help instead of me going out buying something expensive. Thank in advance. Have a wonderful blessed day.

#askthevetvideo Possibly moving to a new area any ways to make a long move easier on a horse hauling myself. We will be moving from Maryland where it gets cold and going to South Carolina or Georgia. Its 10 hours away and we will be making a straight haul no overnights besides stopping every few hours to let him rest.

How do we know which brand of feed to give our horses? I don't own a horse, but I kind-of lease one from my instructor, and she feeds her for me. Also how much should we give? When do we need something like smartpaks?

What exactly is squamous cell carcinoma? How danger is it? My horse had a tumor removed off his third eyelid that tested postive for it but we got it out with good margins but just curious is there any recommendations besides limit sun exposure? #askthevetvideo
