Would you consider this the main question? Yes, you’re right on the differences between structured and unstructured information, even where this could also refer to data in lists and tables versus wrapped in documents / files / blobs that are added to a system. But from an application point of view (at least the once mentioned here) I would also consider ‘collaboration’ (should it at some point be shared or opened up to a group or team), ‘staging and drafting’ (aggregating and combining bits and pieces into a new or final version of a new piece of knowledge) and ‘publication’ (what will be the output… a corporate KMS, a FAQ section of your website, a personal blog or maybe a formatted e-book), and so on. And yes, Obsidian (at least on the desktop) does a better job on this ‘integartion’ part. I think all of this should also be taken into account for a PKS… if you’re see yourself as a part of some sort of (professional) network. So your PKS should be easily connected (or exported) to an(y)other system, and preferably should use an open format. From that PoV I would never consider Notion. Just like you said, Obsidian makes it much easier to take your stuff out, when ‘migrating’ to another system. The Graph View and Canvas are two killer features… but I’m also looking forward to the final release of Bear 2, which out-of-the-box has a much more user-friendly way of editing, tagging, embedding and exporting workflow.

Greetings Justin. May I ask, how many notes do you have in obsidian?I have 25k and search is SO SLOW. I'm now switching to Upnote. I love obsidian but wish the search was faster for large databases. Hoping this improves
