Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

2 жыл бұрын

Program 0622 ................... - The Universe... - Zeitgeist - The New Testament ..............
Recorded at Texas State University - October 2021.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

I have noticed the same…we are getting closer to a point in western societies where it is going to be very dangerous to preach the gospel and speak truth…persecution is coming. The youth are getting rabid and/or emotionally hurt if someone challenges their worldview…Cliffe challenges their own thinking and worldviews which are predominantly based on two things… that they evolved from pond scum to a higher order and they live for themselves. Cliffe is always intellectually honest in that he will admit he doesn’t have an answer for everything. He will honestly say he doesn’t know, but will point to evidence in the gospels that Jesus Christ is reliable and can be trusted.

@@darkeen42 I have written down some of the evidence he uses. It does not seem like a whim, but a thought out response, that has been prepared in advance. I have a list of eleven he has mentioned before. And all seem rational. The reason it may not make sense to you is that everybody starts in their quest for truth, from a worldview, either there is a God, or there isn't. This bias may cloud one from finding the Truth. I can not buy the faith it would take to believe there is no God. The odds are stacked against it. I will list five of the evidences he uses, for now. 1 order and design point to an intelligent designer 2 the big bang shows the universe had a beginning, and beginnings have a cause 3 fine tuning of the universe for life to exist on the planet 4 densely packed information in the DNA of the cell 5 extremely complex, and all stages must be working properly to operate, ie. a mousetrap,(like a slab of wood, spring, hammer, but he gave an example of the eye, also). Plus, six more, one of them being, life comes from life. So, without even using the Bible, he has given evidence for God. But to someone who starts with, there is no God. They have to explain away everything, even if it means believing in aliens, and accepting really bad odds. If I just look at fine tuning, and think of a body that has to, by chance have a heart beating, at the same time as having blood vessels and blood, and then not having eyes yet, has to find a mate that is adapting at the same time, in the same area. This only begins the odds that are required, if there was no God. Alot of blind faith!

I need to make a minor adjustment here, Cliff said: " *_If there is a God WHO LOVES YOU ....... you'd be wise to put your faith in Him_* " - That's in response to the Kid who said he need's no validation from a sky-daddy. The most impactful way to answer this kid is to say that *_If there's a God - PERIOD._* Just think about this for a second, suppose there's a God who created you and he is not that good, not evil, but occasionally loses his cool with people. You'd be VERY WISE to do his will in order to avoid being killed or at least badly injured. Sure you wouldn't love him one bit, but still, unless you want to die which you can resolve that for yourself with the least suffering possible, you'd be very, very wise to seek validation from Him. This kid statement is only possible to go unscathed precisely because God loves him.

@STREEEEEET I get what you are saying, and philosophically speaking I can get on board with you as what you are describing is the sovereignty of God. Saying in essence, that if we can imagine God as the one and only...the very definition of reality...sort of in the same way as...if you were to author a story, then _you_ would be the _"god"_ of that world which you created in your imagination. As such, you and _you alone_ are *absolutely sovereign* over the lives of the characters in your story, and you can do anything you please with them! However, God did something that you and I are incapable of doing. He gave the _characters_ in His story *autonomy.* That is to say...you and I have been given free will. We can _choose_ to follow or _not_ follow God. However, what so many people miss out on is the fact that *ALL* of our choices come with consequences! And as you pointed out in your comment...if we disagree with God it is to our detriment! For God's will is *the only will.* And scripture warns us most soberingly that... _"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."_ *- HEBREWS 10:31*

Don't read Galatians 5 without reading the conclusion in Galatians 6. Applying reductionist principles, like either/or not both/and, like the five solas, cultural meaning from outside of Israel, and the argument from silence will result in abominable principles that teach things contrary to the whole truth of scripture and the culture of Heaven. Christ is man and Christ is Lord, it's both/and. Galatians 6: 1-4 "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another." Don't only live principles described with the adjective "alone", scripture alone, grace alone, baptism alone, or belief alone, all just parts of the whole, but instead live all to the best of your ability, this is the love of God. To be doers not just hearers. To isolate and focus on parts of the culture of Heaven meet a carnal standard of good but is to fall short and meet an eventual destruction, to be cleared away. The whole culture of Heaven throws out the culture of alone (the Solas or the Romans.) Don't discard or forget the Hebrew culture of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to substitute meaning from Roman culture of the Father and the Son, use the Hebrew meaning of Son and Christ given to Abraham by God. To live out the whole culture of Heaven, that is where true love and liberation flourish.

You know, like "just trust the science, bro, not outdated texts." or my personal favorite, "do whatever feels good, just DON'T BE MEAN!!11!11!" There's a reason the college kids call out servitude as an 'injustice', blissfully unaware of how the tens of thousands of dollars they racked up in debt for that year at school to do the SAME PROFESSIONS. The difference from them and "slaves" of past, is that the old way taught people how to be adaptable for any profession, teaching eloquence, perseverance, highlighting personal strengths and making the ultimate individual. Today's students are LITERALLY adapted into a slave mindset, being told as children the only way to get ahead is to sign away your name to banks for the gift of being forced into a single task for the rest of your life. But these people think they're "progressive" and actually moving the world forward, rather than rocketing us backwards as planned all along for the never-before-seen personal benefit of the wealthy and powerful. Ignorance is bliss, however. Analyzing your beliefs through any lens other than self worship is nearly impossible for atheists/satanists, there's honestly no difference between the two. That's why the Bible remains historical, and we are enacting the events YET AGAIN. To our ultimate demise.

I don't think that Cliff is saying that portion of scripture is make believe. I think he is pointing out that it's not a chronological news paper like account of how things went down. There are mysteries to what is explained to us and not every detail of the creation account was recorded in Genesis (that would be impossible). It would be different if he outright denied the creation itself but he did not. Yes, God rested on the seventh day. But just because he rested on the seventh day doesn't mean that every detail of what He did on the six previous days was recorded in exact detail. even how calm his voice is (one strategy in a debate to make you look intellectual and organize, materially, though.). But the words that came out from his mouth is so loud and arrogant. watch the video before you comment. ✌✝️🙏💞

I do wonder sometimes if as a human, I travel to a different world where everything is different. No math, no communication, water is not water (H2O) etc... Everything is different. We are born into this world as it is so we already have assumptions.

Yes we take our world, and it's logic, reason, and choices for granted. Thanks be to God that we are so loved that we can live.

The sabbath was made for man to bless him. On the 7th day sabbath there exists on this day of the week only, an almost imperceptible level of stronger concentration to tap into, that provides a greater clarity of thought, that’s not available in the same concentrated way, on the other 6 days of the week. However to obtain the maximum benefits of the sabbath we need to keep it holy. We achieve this by ceasing from as much work as possible, and thereby take a break from admiring our working achievements for a day. And also on this day we cease from our own pleasures as instructed in Isaiah 58. And from abstaining from this motivation for a day, of admiring our achievements, we admire God in a purer way. This is holiness. Because its not contaminated by admiring ourselves, which we do on the other 6 days of the week. This appreciation or admiration of our own achievements is a healthy God given motivation, whether they be big or small or minuscule achievements. And this 7th day sabbath blessing will bleed into the other 6 days resulting in an improved intellect.
