1:04 that transition was so good 1:47 as well Askeladd is such a well-written character and I can't stress this enough. He respected Thorfinn for wanting a fair fight and that the boy chose not to kill him in his "sleep". Not good with explaining but Askeladd basically "adopted" Thorfinn in a way LOL That anime changed my life. This is such a great edit

Absolutely incredible, every piece of dialogue and visual were perfect, the subtitles are a nice addition with them being different colours at times. It was a splendid watch ❤

HOW THE FUCK DID I MISS THAT BEFOOOOORE?! I love, love, LOVE the usage of season 2 Thorfinn's speech as a narrative for this amv. At this point he just understands this man so much better and it's making me go bonkers each time, their relationship!! AND THE TRANSITIONS!! The one between Askeladd fighting his father and then the one after killing Canute's father to THORFINN'S DUEAL AFTER ASKELADD KILLED HIS FATHER. AND THE "Did you get revenge?" PASSAGE!!! This is just the whole reason why I love AMV's so much, the transitions telling the stories, the parrarels the everything... And ending this on the peaceful, kind parts of Askeladd's life, his friendship with Bjorn (I cried at his death scene) and Thorfinn admiting that in the end "I don't hate him anymore"... It's just so perfect. Long story short, I am moved A LOT and I still can't believe I haven't seen this for a month. AMAZING FUCKING JOB, you are awesome and you just GET the point and how to create this narration and I missed seeing people like that. Gotta watch your other stuff but I'm sure I'll be amazed for sure!

I felt so bad for Askeladd, seeing as so many people (including himself) hated him. It was a relief when Thorfinn said that he no longer did. I cried at Bjorns death, too. The dialogue was truly heartbreaking in thay scene. Thank you for leaving this comment! It made my not-so-good week feel a lot better. Hope you enjoyed my other content :)

Welcome back! Always happy to hear from you. I really feel for Askeladd, and the scene between him and Björn is so heartbreaking because he had to kill the only person who truly understood him. @@CasualBlueLemon no no, please keep making Vinland Saga videos. It is one of the best anime (maybe because it is seinen). If you want to diversify, you can watch Demon Slayer (even though I have watched only S1 yet 😂)...

One of the best anti hero’s of all time. He could of killed thorfin. He wanted thorfin to kill him I think before the end. Bc he realized he did as father did to him. He couldn’t blame the boy. Instead he taught him how to fight. Something thors would of never done. Thors taught thorfin how to be man. Askeladd taught him to survive. Two sides of one coin. Everyone’s my enemy. And no one’s your enemy. Askeladd really cared for thorfin I think. And felt responsible for what happened to him. But without him and only Thors teachings. Thorfin would of never understood struggle. And would get killed. That’s why I love thorfin after. Because he has teachings of both. Thorfin can kill when needed and talk when it can be done. He will choose to talk rather than fight. But you can’t give your life away. And some people can’t change. Thorfins way shows weakness and strengths of both. Everyone’s an enemy, you have no friends no family. But you’ll be sharper and more ready for when a true enemy is revealed. If you have no enemies then your life will be bountiful with good people you love. But allows you to get run over by those who are actual enemies. Very well written. Shows balance.

I think this description is perfect. Thorfinn and Askeladd definitely had that father and son bond - and it’s sad to see that in Askeladd’s last moment, Thorfinn truly hated him still. Their teachings have been valuable to Thorfinn in different ways. Thors needed to fight to save his life, but didn’t, and Askelads killed too many too often. The two of them taught Thorfinn about the perfect balance between those two extremes. Thank you for sharing this!

wow. It is indeed a very good AMV. It is how AMV should be. Not just some cool fight moments with epic music. It is a piece of art carrying meaning that you have picked out and assembled into a beautiful mosaic. The story telling with voices is admirable. Great job

They didn't. "Lucius" in Latin is pronounced as "liu-tsi-us" Not "lookius" like they pronounced it lmao. Lucifer has the same root btw It's from Latin "lux" which means "light"

@Darlingsworth pal. Idk who told you this nonsense. Cicero's name is pronounced "tsitsero" actually. Caesar is pronounced "tsiezar". Anyway, I can promise you that the reason why Japanese said "Lukius" has nothing to do with Latin, but actually because of Japanese rules for romaji (phonetical transcription of European names into Japanese). They just have no sound "ts" and can't pronounce it.
