@@lars-thecrewsader1877 How long is a quarter of an hour is not a trivia question. The only reason the answer might be debatable is if a quarter of an hour is the amount of time you are permitted for a work break. In that case, people are naturally going to turn 15 minutes into 25 or 30.

@@user-ud6ui7zt3r The problem here is, knowing who shot Lincoln is not important to know in most fields. Knowing Grant is on the $50 bill is also not important. Knowing the nursery rhyme "Jack and Jill" is also not important. What type of animal is a koala...an animal that doesn't even reside in the U.S is also not important. Almost all of these questions are trivia questions that for some reason make other people who know them feel better than others for knowing them. It's like an ego trip.

The question, “If your mom had 4 children and 3 of them were named ‘North,’‘South,’ and ‘East,’ what would the 4th be named” is a logical trap and doesn’t work. The logical answer would be “West” and the “correct” answer is supposed to be whatever your name is. The problem is that the question starts in hypothetical fantasy land, so it’s more likely that my name would be West, not John. Also, it only kind of works with Only-Children. If I have a sister named “Jane,” then the question already assumes that either I or my sibling has been renamed for the purpose of the question. This means that I would also likely be renamed to fit the scheme, making the most likely name being “West.” If you consider that the answer is supposed to be the actual name of the subject being asked, then the name doesn’t fit the scheme of cardinal directions, and any name can be correct since the question is based on a hypothetical.

Its not a issue of acces. Its a systemic problem of culture and education. People are taught different values. And education is subpar for way too many people. The people who answered that official language of China is Chinese are in fact correct. The official language is 普通话 (pǔtōnghuà) which means Standard Chinese or ordinary Chinese. In English, this is often called (butchered as) Mandarin, because the pǔtōnghuà is based on Beijing version of Chinese, which is one of the many mandarin dialects that exist in China. So Mandarin is also an acceptable answer, however it is somewhat inaccurate. Pǔtōnghuà is one of Mandarin dialect, but it does not equal Mandarin. That is like saying that you speak Germanic in the US, because English is a Germanic language.

The declaration of independence was signed and sent July 4, 1776 but was not delivered until September of the same year. Independence was not gained until after the Revolutionary War. Just a minor detail.

Unofficially, the United States' Independence Day is actually July 2 - when the Second Continental Congress made the unanimous decision to break from England. However, the actual Declaration of Independence wasn't approved and adopted until July 4, when the document was officially printed and dated. My college history teacher said july 2nd, we just are so slow it was adopted for July 4th. Same with the celebration so we just went with it.

It's not the responsibility of the teacher to force students to retain what is being taught. If that were the case, then all teachers would be ashamed because there is ALWAYS at least one student who ends up failing, and more often than not, students who excel. The students should be ashamed of themselves if they're unable to answer most of these extremely easy questions.

Real education happens at home. School accounts for maybe 5% of my general knowledge. These kids were failed by their family, and their own lack of curiosity. One good thing to keep in mind is that these videos are cherrypicked and edited for the most laughs, if you were to try this the results would still be dissappointing but much better on average.

This is a reflection of parents and teachers and school curriculum. At 37 i can GLADLY say i could name 12 nations in africa of the top and got every other question right. I graduated high school with a 2.7 gpa as well. College was 3.3 gpa. Use that as a measuring stick
