I dont know about that. Some parents shamelessly exploit their sons and daughters for financial gain as Rebekah's brother Laban exploited his daughters Leah, Rachel and their husband Jacob, Issac's son. Marriage is a covenant blessing from God. I dont think parents should coerce sons/daughters into marrying someone they dont know. The word of God says that the steps of the righteous are ordered by God and he knows how to arrange marriages. Man looks at the appearance but God looks at the heart;parents may think a person will make a great mate for their child but it is God that knows everything. Prophet Samuel went to David's father Jesse to anoint a new king. Jesses' sons were handsome and tall and Samuel thought surely one of those handsome men who served in King Saul's army was destined to replace Saul but God said he had not chosen any of them and reminded prophet Samuel,"Man looks at the appearance but God looks at the heart." God knew David from David communing with him in the pastures as David shepherded livestock. They had a bond and God knew David's character though he was still a youth. I don't want my parents to arrange my marriage but I desire the Lord to lead by his holy spirit and introduce me to my future husband in whatever scenario God chooses.

I do support an arranged marriage. I have believe in waiting on God. Yet, I know that even when you know that God has joined you with someone, it doesn't mean it will be flawless and either partner won't fall short, but as long as God as joined you, you know it's going to bring honor and glory to His Name. Man I was touched! The parents did excellent job in explaining marriage. When pastor Solomon spoke the current events and how they wanting change married plus decrease population he hit it dead on . I really enjoyed this! I just recently came across your channel. Interestingly I have been studying Genesis 24 and Holy Spirit has been teaching me a lot from this passage concerning a godly marriage. Isaac and Rebecca’s marriage was arranged by God, not forced. And the first mention of a husband loving his wife in the Bible.

We are told not to be yolked with unbeliever’s. Mom and Dad have covered it all. The family is the main stay of society. It is ruled byGod’s commandments. The church and family is being attacked by those who fear it’s success. We are to seek the Kingdom of Heaven first. Time is running out. Dad knows our future. When I see someone often wearing sunglasses I wonder if they suffer from chronic photophobia like me. If so I'd like to suggest my daily saving grace: FL-41 tinted glasses. US companies like Theraspecs, Axon optics and Avulux make very good ones, it might be worth trying out. I hope I haven't been rude in asking such a personal question and giving unsolicited advice, but I understand the pain of being sensitive to all light all day.

Interesting point as we walk by faith, not by sight. I still struggle with the thought of arranged marriage. However, that has to be the way God is leading the individual. My marriage was never arranged, but God spoke to me specifically about my husband and gave me the go-ahead to marry him.

Just a question..... what if your parents aren't godly or if they are deceased who would stand in the gap for them? I believe there are different ways in which God can execute an "arranged marriage". In my case my husband was shown that i was his wife years before we ever got together. Approximately 7 yrs later my pastor after prayer suggested to me that I pray about him as a spouse. I prayed and God spoke. When we started courting there were no feelings at least not on my side but that quickly changed but i recall submitting to the will of God for me and deciding to love him in spite of the fact that he would never have been my first choice. I am happily married now for 5 and 1/2 years. Best decision I've ever made apart from salvation. Your thoughts.
