Show me the money is all that matters. Everything else is manipulation. 5% is only $5.00 for every $100, or an extra $0.23 for a $4.59 trip. Not worth it at all. They must think these are coupon codes at Walmart. These executives are seriously delusional.

Makes sense with the Safe cruiser pilot years ago, and also beckons of fighting a unsafe driver stigma based off companies like Alto with the Safe drivers proven by in car telemetry to push a new narrative and possibly put a bad taste in the mouth of drivers so they don't jump ship to companies like Alto and others like private limo companies.

Hi Professor, I could convert Uber and Lyft riders easily. What stops me is that I am only doing this for the flexibility because my son was in an accident and I need to take care and keep an eye on him. I can’t afford commercial Insurance. It would only take one accident fault or non fault to lose everything! I am doing this ride share nonsense a little more than part time and don’t expect to continue working with companies that exploit people! The key is to get the riders to complain to their government representatives for regulation and to stop corrupt politicians who won’t let in competition and take pay offs. HUM would be a perfect fit for many of us, yet they are not in California. I live in the Inland Empire. Thank you for all you do for drivers, many of which benefit from your efforts despite the fact that they won’t protest and take all the crap rides that Uber/Lyft throw at them!

Uber needs to understand that the answer is better pay for drivers. Even with CMT, they'll fail because it changes nothing regarding more cars becoming available for riders. Except the want to go the way of weimo if they believe they can do away with drivers

Being a truck driver, retired in 2023 class A CDL, I was subject to all of this on the truck, even as an independent driver. However, the difference is that I DROVE THERE TRUCK ( no rental, no payment whatsover), I was on THERE INSURANCE, THEY PAID YOU GOOD IF YOU HAD A LEVEL 1, 2 OR 3 INSPECTION AND THEY PAID THE FUEL AND DEF AND ALL MAINTENANCE IF TRUCK WAS DOWN! BIG, HUGE difference, considering most drivers on these gig platforms use there own car and pay there own insurance, then they pay the insurance fee put on us as a "fee", Then we pay other insurances...maintenance, fuel... So, not quite sure what these gig companies are trying to accomplish here with all of the fees, regulations, rules and stuff...DIDNT HAVE ALL THIS CRAP IN 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020.... Back then, you turned on the app, you made money, you went home and was able to pay your bills. One has to wonder why now?????

Yeah but now every ride is trash so cherry picking no longer exist. I have gone 4 plus hours not making money because every trip doesn't pay even 1 dollar a mile. Even comfort pays less than a dollar per mile lately

what boils my blood is that you dont accept and stay firm ,and next to you are 4 more suckers accepting everything ,and uber or lyft will put you in gost mode because others will make those 4.52 trips ,or less than a dollar mile ,so uber will continue sending those trips because they know someone will do it .while you are at the parking lot hours waiting ,is not even legal,is discrimination,controlling ,manipulation,a constant breach of contract and violation of independent contractor agreement .

Uber spends all this time and energy coming up with new gimmicks instead of just paying the drivers. This extra 5% nonsense is meaningless when we don't have a rate card to base it off of. Just like Lyft's Turbo percents. There is NOTHING that Uber is doing that creates driver loyalty to the Uber app. Nothing. Seems like everything they come out with is actually antagonistic towards the drivers
