My mother said she'd often listen to the shipping forecast as a kid on the radio to sleep, I never understood that till now.

My father told me the same thing! He listened to shipping forecasts and foreign air base radio broadcasts on his little radio to sleep. Now I know why.

As someone who has lived in the mountains for a long time, the sound of the water lapping against the side of the boat makes me so nervous lol. I'll stay firmly on the ground thank you.

I love the sound but hate the idea that may head is about the same height as the water level on the other side as a small amount of metal.

One of my favourite “real world” asmr tricks is to listen to the shipping forecast. It reminds me of caravan holidays, when my late father would listen to it every night

I can see how some might find the background noises 'annoying', but i personally don't mind them and i think that it adds to the ambience... Especially when listening to the shipping forecast! Another fantastic video, as always, so thank you sir for all of the work that you put into these videos! I've just finished listening to the shipping forecast for tonight... What have i been missing all these years! When i get my old 1954 radio (Pye P76F) back up and running i know what i'll be listening to whenever i'm awake at 00:48!

I used to listen to the shipping forecast when I was stationed in the UK. It was my morning weather briefing before I got to work briefing weather to AF pilots. It is very relaxing and it’s nice to hear it this way.

Welcome back! Hope your trip into nature was a peaceful and meditative one. So glad to see you back and also loved this map video. This is the classic ASMRctica videos that I think are my favorite. Great use of the pointer and also just an interesting subject in general. One of my best friends works for the Merchant Marines here in the USA and its such a complex interesting job. Awesome work as always and I will definitely be using this later this evening for a relaxing evening!

The first ASMR I ever remember getting from media was the Irish shipping forecast on RTE radio when I was very young. Still soothes me every time.

I love the machine sounds in the background!! Routine that ASMR artists apologize for cars or airplanes or extra sounds of any kind. I crave those sounds, it creates depth

I come from Northern Ireland so it was really interesting to see what was featured in the map. It is usually Belfast and Derry/Londonderry so pretty expected. Really relaxing as usual, great work!
