Beautiful restoration! I had a pair of Etnies restored. First skate shoe my mum purchased for me. My son wore them. And they sit by my back door. They are my around the house shoes. I feel her with me when I wear them! The surf shop let her slowly pay them off. I was shocked when she brought them home for me.

I "restored" my vans the other day which are in a worse condition than these here by just throwing it in the washing machine and scrubbing the soles and painting the suede with fabric paint mixed with water 😭😭😭 I'll patch up the holes on my other pair with embroidery patterns which I'll learn soon. I'm glad channels like these exist, even if I can't use the same materials, at least I can learn the ropes to do my bit to give a second chance to much beloved shoes.

Actually, suede can hold a lot of sandpaper, its the most common material for skate shoes bc it can hold griptape so well and last so long

Why people hating over a restoration of a vans?? You don't even know why the owner wanted the restoration in the first place. Maybe it has a precious value given by someone he/she loved and went to another life. Man if you think restoring a vans is a waste of time. You guys are lucky. Here in Europe costs around 70/80€ a pair. And from what I've read in the comments, vans are only cheap in US, in the rest of the world are expensive.

For americans and other countries with high currency it may cost a little. For me in this country with low and unstable currency vans and other brand names shoes are precious. Even used and kinda beat up ones are going to sell out really fast so restoration is a way to go.

I have a pair of old Swede vans from the 6th grade. They’ve lasted me. I’m 25 now. I’ve washed them twice. Stop being destructive and maybe you won’t have to buy a new pair.

A simple acetone or nail polish remover works great on white rubber

Se llama anilina, normalmente viene en polvo, es un sobre que lo disuelves en agua caliente con sal y puedes teñir todo tipo de telas, incluso mejorar su color que se pierde con el tiempo y lavado

Actually, I love the 'dirty' one. Even when I buy a new shoes, I will brush it with dirt and make it wheathered look. Maybe I'm just a psychopath. Nice video anyway 👍
