My hubby and I recently went to an evening of talk by three female crime writers - Lisa Jewell and Louise Candlish were two of them, so nice to see them featured here. Hubby is a big fan of Lisa Jewell but after the talk he has started reading the third of the writers that night, Clare Mackintosh. I love the sound of pages being turned. I didn't realise as a child that the lovely soothing sound of the rustling pages was ASMR, but I recall that even then it made me feel all calm yet tingly.

I just came home from the library. Dropped off On the Road by Jack Kerouac and checked out The Wayward Bus by John Steinbeck. All that whispering by women in glasses that want nothing more than to make me happy was my first taste of real life asmr. Thank you.

Now I feel guilty for all those times I'd hide books at the library. People would come in and immediately ask the librarian for a specific book or even a general type of book instead of finding it themselves. I knew the library like the back of my hand and I'd run to get the book or a whole stack of books so I could hide them nearby. Then the librarian would be puzzled for quite some time as they weren't recorded as being checked out. I'm sorry! LOL!🤣
