I like your positive think however in some cases we need to be mindful and respectful to why some people choose to not share their culture or some parts of their culture. I believe that is the main thing when it come to culture, respecting one another's difference and decisions.

@@nandi_m04 Well, I do respect that. However, take black women and braids as an example. It's called a DUTCH braid 1st of all and 2nd of all, they weren't the only ppl who braided their hair. If we delve into it no one actually can tell anyone that they can't partake in a culture. If 1 person says they can, there will be other ppl who say they can't because they think the culture is solely theirs, when in fact, it's not. I'm not saying there's no culture that belongs to 1 people but if there is, then I can for sure say they can tell others not to partake in it. However, when you have multiple peoples who share a culture then it gets complicated. Not to mention, if you want someone to be able to learn and understand about your culture, limiting it to only your people(I believe) will only push others away

As a black woman myself I personally do not mind if people outside of our race wear our hairstyles, if your hair can handle it then by all means go for it. However let's not use Dutch braids as some argument when the only similarities Dutch and box braids have are the fact that they are braids and they aren't even the same type of braid. A Dutch braid(s) typically consists of one or two "inside-out" French braids, while box braids are multiple sectioned off braids with fake hair added to it. Black women aren't claiming and gatekeeping the entire concept of braids, We are simply claiming our culture which is box braids nothing more nothing less.

I'm just trying to say that many cultures and elements of culture are intertwined and can't be separated. I absolutely agree with you. I'm just pointing out to someone who commented, that you can't say oh only these ppl braid hair so only they can wear braids, or only these ppl wear this type of clothing so you can't wear it. It's different when someone wears or does something to mock someone, to me that's cultural appropriation. But we, as long as we respect it, can still wear the clothing of another culture for example
