I'm not an American, so I've always been intrigued by a lot of American's reverence for the flag (though I'm guessing there is a generational shift happening). It was interesting to learn about the rules of the rituals around the flag in this video.

My 4th grade teacher was in the Navy and he recruited a few students - myself included - to set up the flag in the morning before school started.

Another fantastic video, loved learning about more about the stars & stripes flag.😊

Looking forward to enjoying this video later last year I had a trip over to Washington DC and Baltimore from the UK, I saw the huge Star Spangled Banner in the Smithsonian, and also a great exhibition at Fort Mc Henry about the flag and the anthem.

There’s a company called Allegiance Flag Supply. They make hand sewn embroidered flags made in the US. Looks quite similar to your flag if you’re looking for a replacement.

I don’t think they’re saying the American flag has to be higher as that would imply that America is above other countries, maybe for state flags that would be the case however.

I’m 26, in just my lifetime the patriotism and reverence for simple things like our flag or holding your hand over your heart during the anthem or the pledge of allegiance has seemingly disappeared. I often don’t agree with many things our government does, but it’s sad to see the cultural degradation for what the flag is supposed to represent.
