Im no medicine major, but isn't pouring water (or generally liquids) in one's ear canal is what you are supposed fo avoid as it could deposit, cause an inflammation of the inner ear which usually means you lose sense of balance easily and get constantly disoriented?

If you put cold water in your ear, you can get disoriented. Otherwise it's fine. My ENT actually advised me to let water flow in my ear while showering to help keep it clean

When I had a clogged ear cleaned they used regular tap water and the doctor's assistent who was treating my ear said it usually does not matter all that much, unless there already is an obvious bad condition of the inner ear present and then still, it needs to be so bad it's probably visible without an instrument. She also said that she thinks swimming pool water might be a lot more bad for one's ears than tap water.
