I'm actually sick. For 3 days. Can't keep anything down, even water, everything hurts so much. I'm dehydrated so I'm cramping up too. I wish I was at my mom's. Instead I'm stuck in a room, surrounded by people who get mad at me for being sick. Soon I'll doze off for an hour and wake up to be sick again. But this is still a nice substitute.

i have a theory. it's not so much my theory, i'm sure it's commonly held by some. but that the reason asmr exists is a now redundant version of a kind of hypnotic state that would cause an infant to become docile, when attended to by their primary caregiver. spoken to with a gentle timbre, rhythmically, or otherwise drawing the attention. with other gentle noises and movements. everyone does this as a force of habit throughout their life when caring for someone else. and they do so without being aware of the specific biological root, because this sensation is generally no longer experienced beyond infancy. however those that do experience ASMR as an adult do so due to a minor anomaly in neural patterning that is rarely exploited. people's brains can be triggered into this state when only some of the stimuli necessary are present, and in this more associations can be made, and the sensation can grow and become something different to the user, which explains the wide variety of trigger videos.
