Hi Kate - Have you thought of scanning and printing copies of coloring book pages? I scan and copy coloring pages for personal use. That way if I don't like what I did, I can color a new copy. Keeping coloing books pristine also allows for lending and sharing books with friends. Some books are larger than a standard scanner for home use. But a little trial and error with reducing image size on the scanner can usually produce satisfactory results even if the borders are cropped out. Otherwise I sneakily use the photo copier at work, which has a larger scanning bed and can print on larger paper for those double page images.

Tale of Beren and Luthien is one of the best stories in The Silmarilion, you would love it!
