Hey guys,
This video for me is where it all started. I used to loveeee (and still do) having my eyes checked and it's where i had the most serious tingles. Remember the checks you had as a kid? The close whispering, personal attention and tapping of the instruments was what did it for me. I nearly fell asleep editing this haha.

As an ophthalmologist, I wouldn’t recommend being exposed to the ophthalmoscope light for 20 min because of the risk of photochemical damage to the retina. As an ASMR enthusiast, this video can cause no harm to the eye because you would be asleep in about 3-4min Nice job August 🥰🤓

Search ASMRs made within this week and see this video. Got unusually excited for something meant to calm. You do very enjoyable up close ASMR August, and I really like this is a dull light instead of the flashlights that just turn the entire screen white. XD

For those saying that they're hearing her heart beat, it sounds more like it's either a slightly popping from breathing close to the mic or bumping into it, or something gently rocking, like an unsteady table leg or something. It's too inconsistent to be her heartbeat, and you can hear it when she's further from the camera. It happens more when she's moving as opposed to when she's close to the camera and is still, which if by some miracle, her mic was powerful enough to pick up a heartbeat, that's when you would hear it.

don't take these as criticism as I understand these are mostly for fun (and indeed they succeed at that, I greatly enjoy your videos); but, [should you be interested in some fundoscopy trivia], here you go. Oftentimes you'll find, and -- indeed -- it is taught at medicals schools, that examination should "always" begin with a red reflex test (in scare quotes as many doctors do forego it due to it's slightly redundant nature in a fundoscopy). Red reflex tests are meant to check for presence of retinal reflex upon illumination of the back of the eye and is done from an arm's length away; it's absence or reduction is usually indicative of abnormalities in the 'ocular media', i.e. the cornea, the lens, the aqueous and vitreous humour (most commonly: cataracts, corneal scarring, hemorrhaging). You realise this is redundant, as all of these things can be identified in the preliminary ectoscopy and following fundoscopy, but it is kept for procedural reasons (and also because, unsurprisingly, looking from a bit further away can help get a 'macro' perspective of the problem, which can help). Another thing, and this one I find adds to the perception of intimacy in these videos, (due to your not-following of this rule), is that we'll usually use the right eye for the inspection of the patients' right eye ( the ophtalmoscope similarly held in the right hand); and the left eye for the patients left eye. This is to avoid getting our face too close to the patients, accidentally striking them with our nose or 'kissing' them. In this context, where nose striking is out of the question, I find it charming to be 'closer' to your face. Finally, the 'zoom' or magnification, is actually the dioptre grading of the lens, which will correct refractive errors that may exist between you and the patient. Cheers and thanks for the video.

Common practice as well to direct the patient to look 'up' or 'down' and 'left' or 'right', more commonly to various corners e.g. 'lower right', etc; to facilitate visualisation of all four quadrants of the back of the eye. Most finish with the macula, ("look straight into the light") as it can be quite painful or intolerable for patients to have the light shone directly on to it.
