I've tried to come to a logical conclusion to why this is so relaxing and specifically calming for the person it's done on. Be it in your ASMR videos or in reality like here, I think the trust that people can put in someone else when they make fast movements, yet they don't bring pain or sadness like it's ingrained in our everyday life, but a helping soothing hand that does nothing but calm you down is so shocking to our brain that it reacts with happy feelings, maybe even so great that you might think not everything and everyone wants to hurt you. It's a feeling of hopefulness that another person does something nice for you despite not knowing how you would react to it because you can't fully anticipate what's happening to you in reiki. Kept me thinking this weekend, wanted to share it.

Being loved and tended to is a powerful energy, and one that is at the core of our nervous system development and may be based in the concept of co-regulation! On my end, energy work is a truly profound and fully felt experience. I get lots of visuals and full body sensations, and the people I do direct work on also feel it- I was taught since I was a kid how to do it. Whether other people want to believe in it or not or if they numb themselves out to that kind of sensitivity doesn’t really matter- the simple rituals of calming the nervous system seem to be enough, especially for people watching 😊

I have had a very unusual upbringing which has no doubt had an impact! Many of the things I do on this channel are skills and trades that were passed down from my immediate family. My parents were traveling filmmakers, and I lived with an energy healer growing up 😊
