My dad grew up on almost all British tv shows and because he loved them so much he showed them all to me. When he passed away I got his huge collection of BBC shows on dvd and they always make me think of him when I watch them :) there’s something so hilarious and beautiful about British tv shows!

At the risk of sounding like a totally stalkerish nutjob, I just have to point out that we have a lot in common! I am a paralegal, I have misophonia (and ASMR, obviously), I have two sons, and I literally love the movie Friday and have the entire thing memorized. There are more, but my mind has gone blank temporarily. One difference we have is that I haven't always been the best money manager - but I'm working on that at the moment and your money-related videos have been really helpful. "A Face In the Crowd"!!! I love it when I run into someone who knows & loves that movie. It is a masterpiece, and one of my favorite films of any genre/era. ...and yes, it was ahead of its time and very prescient.

I LOVE "A Face in the Crowd"! It is written by Budd Schulberg and directed by Elia Kazan, and they had just worked together on "On the Waterfront" with Marlon Brando, a couple of years before "A Face in the Crowd". Kazan gave Andy Griffith his big break on this film. Andy was a truly great actor. One of the ones, like James Garner, who made it look so easy. Anyway, aside from all that, LOL, I LOVE your ASMR videos. You have such a calming presence. :)

I quote Fifth Element almost daily 😂 "Aziz Light" and "Ectogammit" are a couple of my faves. I also always say "CHEEK-AN! GOOT CHEEK-AN" like Leelo does lol.

ok it's post-pandemic in April 2021, and i gotta say i wish i had a collection of blue rays and DVDs. it's so much easier to pull a favortie out when it's right in front of you. during the pandemic i have to scan through the movies offered on cable, and watch them over and over. i mean i've see Hitch twenty times now cuz it's on cable all the time!

I like Morgan Freeman because of the gravitas he brings to every role. Jack Nicholson is a Jersey guy (Spring Lake) just like me. I thought he was about to lose it during the wedding reception scene in About Schmidt, but he didn't. Robin Williams was lost too soon. I liked him in Good Will Hunting. That condition you have must be debilitating. I can usually tune out popcorn eating because I'm enjoying my own. I'm bothered by repeated sniffling and people who whistle and wheeze when they breathe... definitely not ASMR.
