Good job! I particularly liked how you repainted the damaged decals. Did you relubricate the shifters are you put them through the ultrasonic cleaner? Why did you decide not to replace the sealed bottom bracket cartridge? I presume it wasn’t very worn even though it was very rusty! You did well cleaning it up!

Lovely work. Particularly like the touchup you did on the paintwork. I love the blue LX V-brakes. I ran a set myself for years. Still got them in a box somewhere. Is there any reason you didn't put boots over the cables on the brakes? Thanks for the video.

Pretty certain you will find a power link on that chain without the dramatic use of a chain splitter. A cassette removal tool can simply be held in place with the quick release. There is no need for a socket set. Just a spanner and whip. It frees your hand up as well. I would strongly advise not taking Shimano LX rear hubs apart as they are effectively service free, if you strip them you will find it hard to repeat the factory torque settings. If the pawls in the splined cassette freehub are sticky the springs will be on the way out- simply buy a new one.

I think some of them still are. They are now owned by this big Dutch bike company. Of course bicycle shops will not give them any credit for providing some better value than their entry level bikes. There is no reason that they cannot sell a good bike as they no longer have the overhead of a bike shop.

A mí parecer y en mi simple opinión metodos fórmulas opciones gustos hay muchos . Pero el retoque de pintura en el fileteado no me pareció buena opción. Excelente trabajo de mantenimiento porque restauración tampoco es. Quedó genial

Yo man, good work, but a lot of friction on the cinematic, especially on the central movement, because the old sealed bearings. The rear bearing is a bit noisy.. 🤔

It looks like it's either a delete kit or a brace.

It reinforces the brake and prevents flexing of the frame.

It is called a brake booster. Lighter aluminium frames are known to experience slight flex of the seat stays or wishbone when used with V brakes. The brake booster reinforces that area to prevent flex and allegedly improves braking performance (they don't). They look cool though.

You dont need to unscrew the nut at 2:11. Just take the big allen key (8mm or 10mm) and unscrew the right crank. Than the special puller at 2:26 is not needed…

Чашки руля нужно было заменить, подшипники в карете тоже не понятно в каком состоянии. Защиту пера задней вилки тоже новую нужно было приклеить, рукожопы.
