Sometimes it takes you exaggerating your accent like this to make me realize how subtle it has become in your regular speech over the years. Still super impressive that you're able to manipulate it like this! The matryoshka doll video was one of my favorites and this is a pleasant surprise... something about the cadence specific to Russian-English accents is super soothing, almost like a spoken lullaby, and your angelic voice only potentiates the effect 💕

So happy to see Maria sharing a little bit of our culture with others around the world.I don’t think there are a ton of people in the west who have a real sense of Slavic culture outside of swear words, gopnik’s... the most basic and quite terrible aspects. It isn’t comprehensive but it really is a nice touch. It makes me happy to see. My inner Tsarina approves ✨👸

Aw man this is so cool! I remember from your old script flip-through video how you wanted to do a Russian history ASMR, but you thought Russian history was too sad. I loved every minute of this, I fell asleep yesterday night and then finished it this morning. I’m Italian, but when I was a little girl I studied for many years classical dance and character dance which is a mixture of classical dance and traditional folk Russian dances, my teachers were all Russian with heavy accents that I found so mysterious and soothing (at times, when they were not yelling at me for doing something wrong lol). I remember my mum braiding my long hair for the shows and events - I had such long hair that they had to give fake braids to the other girls to match! - and then wearing beautiful handmade kokoshnik like this one, we also used shawls for choreographies and I remember distinctively when older girls would put white powder on our face, pink cheeks with their fingers and last but not least beautiful red lipstick to pop out before the shows, at the theatre. So it‘s touching how this could be a nice throwback to my childhood even though I grew up in another country, I felt really cared. Thank you

I think she's not faking it. As a english beginner student, I can say that when you learn a new language, you must learn the accent and correct pronunciation of that language too. In the middle and at the end of the learning process, you are capable to "abled/disabled" your accent or something like that lol. I know you aren't trying to acussing her or something, it's just a fun opinion :)

@@favioperalta6664 i mean you obviously get better at speaking a language over time but fully losing your accent is not guaranteed I would say. I started learning English almost 20 years ago and now use it on a daily basis but I can't fully hide my accent. I can overdo it but not fully switch it off, which is a shame because I really dont like it.

I mean I have to push myself so pronounce words more "the German way" now that I've been learning and using English for several years. But of course the pronunciation of your native language will always come kind of naturally to you.

Oh, those clicky-clacky beads on the headdress!...I can tell this is going to be a favorite video of mine. It's so cool to me how you can intensify your accent, Maria! You can really turn it on and off...that's such a talent (coming from a Southern gal who can't turn mine off 😂).

I’m Southern and learned in high school how to modulate mine, and when I went to college nobody knew I was Southern unless I was really mad or drunk, lol 🤣 One of my teens mentioned not too long ago that I don’t have an accent unless I’m mad at all of this kids, so some things never change, hahaha! I can feel it come back when I visit back home or talk to people from home but then it resets after a bit. If you put a bit of effort into making it less pronounced instead of get rid of it entirely, you’ll notice a huge change, I bet 😁
