Several years later, I still like to return to this video just to re-experience the beauty in Erin’s storytelling; it feels like finally discovering the lyrics to a song that your soul has been singing. This video captures everything that was missing from my life when I was 20, but the cinematography and editing were done with such care that it makes me feel nostalgic instead of regretful or lonely. I know it’s probably a weird thing to have others feel about an ASMR video, but I’m convinced that’s Erin’s talent - the ability make something that is so much more than just the sum of its parts, that is as artful as it is sincere.

This is the kind of life I want to live everyday. I wanna be surrounded by nature, laughter and happiness, friendship and love, I wanna wear dresses and pretty clothes and I wanna be able to buy pretty clothes that I want, and I want a beautiful place like Portland. I might move there when I grow up because it just looks so gorgeous and like everything I want.

You are literally my exact feelings to this. It's so beautiful and so stunning and how she portrays something and isn't going out to fancy places and always loving the small things. I believe this is now my new years resolution to just love the small things and dress like that. It's absolutely stunning and I cannot express the ways it looks it just it amazing. ❤️

That car drive scene though, I’m near tears. It reminds me of when I was younger, in the car and silently dozing off while looking out the window, with a nice lullaby playing in the background. I didn’t even know I needed this nostalgia until now.
@Jingy2976 жыл бұрын
This feels as if it's one of my own memories. Just the way the video and audio fragments and shifts around, sliding from one thing to another in short bursts, I feel like I'm watching glimpses of a dream I've had that's come to life. I'm filled with such nostalgia and longing for an experience that I'm not sure I've ever had, like it came from another life, another place. Thank you so much for this, it's unlike anything else I've ever seen on KZfaq.
@tristenryan27626 жыл бұрын
This was exactly the experience and feeling I had, the way it was filmed and the way the sound was mixed makes it feel as though I am recalling a treasured memory. It honestly made me feel things I was completely blindsided by.

You should check out It's Such A Beautiful Day by Don Hertzfeldt. Similarly captures that nodtalgic feeling that makes you feel like you're watching your own memories. Very odd and confusing film at first but stick it out through the first half and you'll realize it was all necessary to drive the final point home. One the most existential movies I've seen.

I sometimes get the feeling that ASMR is making the first tentative steps toward a new artform, a sort of digital folk art-form, which sounds strange, but so many people exploring this new arena is very exciting to watch as it slowly grows and changes. This video, in getting out of a single room, close-up setup, and getting into the open air, a sense of movement, place, freedom etc.. reinforces my intuition. This piece is almost like poetry, or it seems to aspire to such. There are several short films, experimental pieces that it reminds me of, even maybe one or two foreign films... Anyways, let me add my vote of approval to the chorus that finds this video so enchanting and quietly poetic, and applaud miss Moon's efforts. BTW, does anyone know hoe she got that sort of soft amber tone to the image...It seems a certain filter was applied somewhere along the line? Anyone else see this?

Thank you so much for sharing your Portland adventure with us. This was so beautifully shot, edited and (of course) narrated, combining the intimacy of a home movie with the production values of a short independent film that was clearly a labor of love for the filmmaker. Definitely adding Portland to my bucket list of cities I want to visit (and possibly live in) ...

What an interesting and delicate way to tell a story. Whisper narration with a hint of ambience as needed on top of gentle handheld and engaging visuals. I was intrigued the whole way through. Well done.

i just cant stop watching this video, its hands down my fav asmr video, i love the aesthetic of the video, your voice, and how chill and simple it is, but i love the way you can make the enviromental music fit in so well

This video awakened the wondering young woman I once was: late night drives with friends, day trips to the beach, and the intense bonds formed in the silence between conversations, profound beyond words and beautiful down to my soul. Thank you, I thought she was gone.

ASMR almost takes on a surreal quality when the person making it is talking about stuff you see every day. I don't think I've ever heard the MAX described so peacefully in my life. I'm glad you had a chance to visit, and I hope you had a great time!

this will forever be my favorite video on the internet because every fiber of its essence screams something like spike jonze's "her." it just captures and highlights the complexities of what it means to be human.

Your uploads are some of the highest quality ASMR videos I've ever seen - aside from the fact that they're relaxing enough to send me straight into a stupor the cinematography and editing is wonderful. I'm relaxed, but I want to stay awake to watch it all!

Something about this video is so damn inspiring and soothing that I can barely take it. It's so touching and cute and carries that mood of freedom and careless exploring as if there's nothing to worry about in the world. Also you two are gorgeous and I really have to compliment you on your style, coming from a female botanist who adores oldfashioned flower print dresses.

Okay, so ASMR aside this was a truly awe-inspiring video. You're actually an incredible videographer, and I could not get over the movie-level quality of this. It was like one of those peaceful, melancholy movies that make you cry and be so uplifted at the same time. Truly amazing. While I do love your ASMR I'd love to see a separate channel devoted to stuff like this, it really is incredible. Thank you so much for this

Ahhhh is that candy shop Bruce's? I spent so many weekends of my childhood at Cannon Beach! I remember that in the winter you could see hundreds of puffins nesting on the rocks. Every time we went my family would stop by Bruce's to get a bag of saltwater taffy to share on the drive back to Portland. So many great memories. Thank you for this video!

Ok so now that I finished the video....this is truly a masterpiece. The images, the narrative, the words used to move us along is truly a work of art. It reminds me of what it was like to be youthful, full of wonder and awe...the open road ahead. So nostalgic. Bloody brilliant. The best asmr video I've ever seen.

Hi Erin, long time subscriber here! I love all your videos, but I have to say, I'm continuously drawn to your vacation vlogs. You have such an incredible knack for narrating and layering sounds! Every now and then I revisit them and feel that same nostalgia that everyone else in the comments is talking about. You're an absolute treasure not only to the ASMR community, but to KZfaq as a whole!

I vividly remember watching this video in 2017. I don't want to sugarcoat and say that it was perfect time, because I had a lot of things on my mind, but something was definitely different. Atmosphere was different, people were different. Something changed last 5 years and it changed for the worse. Also I miss Isabelle, I don't know her, but I miss her presence in the videos.
