He prolly does it in order to watch his throat as he explained the doctors had told him that too much whispering overtime actually damaged his throat, so in order to prevent that issue from happening again he switches between whispering and soft-spoken speaking, it's clever as the quality is really good but it's also smart as he watches his health, very efficient jojo
