[ASMR] Where Optometric Magic Originates + Refraction (roleplay)

But first, I want to take you on a tour of the trial lens set AND show you some of the lenses that the laboratory have sent me, which I’m sure will provide you with some fantastic ASMR.

So much goodness in turning the camera's autofocus off then using lenses correctly to bring the charts into focus. A lot of ASMRtists could learn a lot from you! :)

I had a rough day today. I mean a VERY rough day. I'm not going to lie, I almost skipped checking my notifications, but as soon as I saw SRP put out a new refraction video I couldn't help but watch it, and it did not dissapoint! I needed this so bad today. Thank you so much SRP, you have no idea how much your videos help people who need a bit of rest and calm from the craziness in this world!

Ive always enjoyed these show-and-tell, POV type videos. Especially with a pointer or careful and deliberate handling of small/fragile objects. Idk what it is about them but they put me to sleep so fast every time.

Great video!!! I’ve had congenital cataracts since I was 2 and I grew up with a useless right eye. Getting out of school to go to the ophthalmologist every so often was a favorite of mine despite the struggle. These days my right eye is toast at -16.0 and left is -12.5 lmao...These videos are nostalgic and very relaxing to me. Thank you so much

I have to use a green filter when reading. I'm not dyslexic as such, just find it harder to read without. I have some damage to my eye muscles (getting better and I do excersizes) and the green filter makes it easier for my eyes to focus. Also makes it easier for my brain to process the words.

The first two times watching this, I nodded off, appropriately. The third time, I began to focus on the chart you put up at about 14:20. My mind kept seeing words in the chart, like the game Boggle, where you make words from letters that connect together. Great video mate. I was wondering though, what is your opinion on American and UK Practices of optometry? As here in the USA, we don't use trial lens sets, but instead they just use phoropters with all the lenses in them. I suppose there are ups and downs to both as well! Please elaborate and maybe pin this so others can learn too!

You are correct. I just find it much easier to use a trial frame but phoropter uses would probably say the same thing 🤣
