When I went to Alaska our guide said that you need to make a lot of noise and black bears will run away. You need to play dead with grizzlies because they will just maul and not usually kill you but if you are still they get bored and leave you alone. Then he talked about polar bears and said if you come face to face with a polar bear there are 3 VERY important things you need to do quickly. First you need to get on your knees. Second you need to put your hands together and the MOST important thing to do third is to close your eyes and pray to whatever you call GOD because polar bears don't give a rats behind and they will rip you apart and eat you.
