@beatricelefebvre8680 I prefer in ear headphones, but I have a pair of skull candy over the earphones and they're good for asmr as well but the ear to ear whispering seems to far more tingly with ear buds

I've noticed you've used "binaural" in your video titles twice now recently... it's a term that used to be really popular in video titles from a lot of ASMR creators but has fallen off from what I've seen.

In this case it is approriate because she IS using a real binaural mic. 👍 Back then 9/10 times when asmr artists added "binaural" in their titles it made me groan when they just used a Blue Yeti or other stereo/dual microphone setup, which is all wrong. It became a fad because they didn't understand what binaural audio actually is. Audio recorded with those mics was not binaural audio, just normal stereo. Binaural audio is also recorded in stereo but what separates it from any other stereo recording is that within the audio itself it has mixed in a subtle simulation of how humans hear directional audio in real life. That comes from the physical properties of the microphone itself. Meaning you need a dummy head or 3dio (or equivalent) microphones with ear lobes and something to create "head shadow" between the two earlobe microphones. The result is a recording that not only has left and right (normal stereo) but also up and down, back and forth and in a good spacious enviroment even sense of distance. There are some newer, fancier and smaller VR multidirectional mics that then use software to create directional audio but the dummy head mics are the classic way to create such "3D" audio recordings. Sorry about the rant but this is important to me because I am a fan of binaural recordings, not just asmr. 😅
