Phan you need to try a polish dish we have every holiday with our porgies. It’s polish sausage and sauerkraut that we cook on low for several hours. And some of us add a little apple sauce to it as it is cooking very delicious. And there is a pork chop mashed potatoes and sauerkraut casserole that I have to make 3 pans of at a time cause even my grandkids fight over it

Oh! That sounds delish!! I’ve actually haven’t had sauerkraut on anything other than hotdogs or by itself. I love hearing ideas to pair things with it. Especially when I have 2 tubs of kraut and I’m the only one that eats it lol

Try making the casserole. You need day old mashed potatoes or if in a pinch make them just before. First fry your pork chops about 7 minutes on each side and please season before frying in oil. Step 2 place pork chops in bottom of an oiled 9+13 baking dish then top with saurkraut and a 2 inch alayer of mashed potatoes and then top with your favorite cheese I use provolone. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 for 20 minutes then remove foil and bake 10 to 15 minutes till golden brown. Remove from oven let cool for about 10 minutes and then serve and enjoy. The sauerkraut will make the pork chops so soft and make the mashed potatoes taste like dumplings and it is kid friendly all 10 grandchildren love this dish

I don’t have an issue using them but using the fork it’s easier to scoop all the toppings. Off camera I wouldn’t care but my dish is set up really high up too. So it’s a bit awkward lol
