I remember watching Toy Story two on the vhs with my brother back years ago and before we knew it was called asmr we found the original scene to be really satisfying and we’d constantly rewind the tape to experience it over and over again. Good times.

This video popped up in my suggestions and I just can't believe the amount of time and effort put into this to recreate a special child memory for so many people!! This has always been my favorite part in the movie as a child and it was so nice to see irl. Thank you for your effort and hard work :)

Fun fact: the chess pieces in the middle drawer that he briefly opens is actually an easter egg. In the actual movie, the old man seen fixing up woody is actually an exact copy of a character model from a realllyy old pixar short. Since Pixar was in such a time crunch, they used the character model from the Pixar short. Seeing the chess pieces actually in here made me happy! I love the attention to detail.

If you pull it through some soft wax it behaves better, a bit left over from an edam cheese or babybell cheese works well.

I can really appreciate the effort that clearly went into the production of this, holy cow. Not normally the type to care a whole lot about production value, but stumbling upon this video just stunned me. That Woody was already clean to begin with, but only because of your similarly high effort in maintaining him, i respect it man.

I didn’t realize that there were so many people other than me who just found that scene extremely satisfying. Also things I didn’t realize others found as satisfying as I did: peeling that protective layer of plastic on electronics and other items. Mixing things

The original scene from the movie was my very first time experiencing ASMR. I was a very young child and didn’t know how to describe what I was feeling. I don’t even think there was a term for it back then. I looked online for years before finally discovering the term “ASMR”. It’s amazing that not only has the feeling been defined now, but a community has formed around it and academic research has been conducted! Thanks for making this video, it’s so well-made and captures the original scene perfectly. I can tell you put a lot of work into it and I appreciate it!

I always loved that part of Toy Story 2, it was always so relaxing. That was probably my first exposure to ASMR now that I think about it.

this is close to perfection, the only one missing is the lighting. the yellowish light gives the scene more cartoony and makes us feel that we're kids again

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
