This is the best .NET Core 5.0 Web API I've ever seen, no cap, man. Thank you so much!!! But let me ask you something... before creating the BookStore.Data project with its interfaces, models and repositories folder, the API was already working... why did you have to create it then???

Thank you for your comment. It’s good to separate the UI from the business logic. Data and business logic should be in its own layer.
@svierregger
@svierregger 2 жыл бұрын
@@liquidKi A good reason to separate the business logic into standalone dlls is because WebAPI (or any web service) should be considered a network (or internet) interface for your dll-based API. WebAPI is merely forwarding API requests received over the network or internet to the core dll API, and typically transforms the return data into JSON. Say you want to write a windows service that runs behind the firewall and the host server has a database connection - the windows service can reference the dll API directly instead of calling WebAPI. In most C# apps it is easier to digest strongly typed .Net objects/models than JSON or Xml. The dll API returns standard .Net objects and collections without the overhead of unnecessary WebAPI calls.
