Description
Distillation assembly for recovery of binder from solution by Abson method.
Used for recovering the asphalt (bitumen) from a solution of a previous extraction. The asphalt is recovered with properties substantially the same as those it possessed in the bituminous mixture and in quantities sufficient for further testing.
The apparatus consists of a distillation assembly including:
(1) Extraction flasks
(2) Glass tubing
(3) Inlet aeration tube
(4) Electric heating mantle
(5) Water-Jacketed condenser
(6) Thermometer
(7) Gas flowmeter
(8) Stands and clamps
(9) Bitumen Extractor
