This asphalt recycling demonstration features an Asphalt Rejuvenator / Release Agent Spray System mounted on an Asphalt Recycler / Hot Box from Falcon Road Maintenance Equipment. Falcon equipment can recycle asphalt chunks and millings for under $20 per ton, hold and transport hot mix for days and heat cold patch.
With this spray system the hopper of the Falcon asphalt recycler / hot box is coated with release agent before loading the material to facilitate cleaning after use. The RAP and Millings are then sprayed with rejuvenator which mixes in with the material to avoid the need for mechanical mixing (i.e. an auger or pugmill) during the overnight recycling process. All Falcon equipment has no moving parts when recycling or holding asphalt.
After the overnight recycling process, the recycled asphalt is ready to use just like virgin asphalt purchased from the hot mix plant. Hot mix asphalt available year-round through asphalt recycling will eliminate hot mix and cold patch asphalt purchases. There is no need to go to the asphalt plant and wait in line for material or not be able to get material if the plant is not running that day.
