The Resp alkalosis also occurs because the salicylates stimulates the respiratory Centre directly, resulting in hyperventilation

Compensatory mechanisms never overcorrect The resp alkalosis is from errors in central processing from aspirin

May 2021 mrcp part 1 had a question on salicylate overdose..pt. presented to er after 4 hour of aspirin overdose..with tinnitus only..lab shows metabolic acidosis...what is the next best step..option were activated charcoal,gastric lavage, i/v sodi bicarb..and other 2 options i dont remember..i wish i watched this video before the exam..although i passed it

I overdosed on Aspirin. I took 19,500 mg of aspirin. I had to respatory issues... I should be dead because im only 98 lbs that was the modt painful thing i have ever experienced in my entire life.

I took too much too. Its been 8 days sice i took it and i have confusion, ringing in ears ect. When did you get better? I hear its a full 10 days till it wears off. Help
