Assassin's Creed Evolutions: The Bayek and Aya Sequel That Should Have Been

Assassin's Creed Evolutions is the working title I came up with for what I believe should have been the sequel to Assassin's Creed Origins. The game would follow Bayek and Aya/Amunet in Ancient Rome during the Julio-Claudian Dynasty, where Rome would have its first emperor; Augustus. Not only would Bayek and Aya have been alive for most of this era but we already know Aya has a Hidden Ones bureau established in Rome. Such a massive missed opportunity...

It is utterly baffling that they set up Ancient Rome at the end of Origins and just *never delivered*. Greatest missed opportunity. Never too late though I suppose, maybe they want the time to completely recreate Rome…

Didn’t plans for it get canceled after odyssey in favor of Valhalla? I remember reading something like that back then since origins and odyssey were developed side by side each other but instead we got Valhalla, it would’ve been better for Kassandra to meet bayek and Aya instead of Eivor imo

Bayek should have got a TRILOGY. AC Origins set everything up. Part 2 would show Bayek travel to Judea in search of the apple that was lost at the end of Curse of the Pharaohs. At the same time he'd set up a new bureau with Kawab and continue his fight against Roman oppression. The last game would take place on Italian Peninsula with the city of Rome as the most important location. We'd see Bayek and Aya relationship evolve, we'd learn why Bayek was forgotten and we'd see familiar faces like Esio of Cyrene. Bayek would fight the new leader of the Order, emperor Octavian, and we'd see Amunet assassinate Cleopatra with a snake. This game would also be a perfect opportunity to reintroduce proper social stealth, more complex Unity-like parkour, 2 playable characters and maybe even co-op mode where one player is Bayek and the second is Aya. I'm still salty that Bayek's story was abandoned in favor of Odyssey and Valhalla, random fantasy games that barely tie into AC narrative.

Same idea but i flip the two. Everything with Octavian and Rome and Cleopatra's assassination should be the 2nd game. The game set in Judea and the Levant will be the 3rd, Revelations style.

A Bayek sequel would really write itself because the three games could be based around the three core tenets of the creed. The hidden one dlc gave us the origin of rule 1: “stay your blade from the flesh of the innocent.” So having the next two be born over the two sequels feels almost poetic

Man that's soooo true! As an Egyptian AC fan and an Egyptology nerd I remember wanting an ac in Egypt soo bad and origins delivered tenfold, and Abubakr Salim was perfect for the role, it is sad that whenever ubi does something great and with great potential they just throw it to the side, that is why AC was on a decline, the old ACs built on the games before them like the Ezio and Kenway sagas why not build upon Bayek and Aya's saga and the early hidden ones? Why not build on Arno's story and a possible revenge arc to kill shay? Why not fill all these plot holes in good games that actually matter. Assassin's creed was attractive to many because of parkour, combat, and STORY but ubi seems to have forgotten the story element

I idea a little different. The sequence to Bayek/Aiya should be set in Rome during the second triumvirate. U playing as a recruit under guidance of Aiya. See how both of their story develope from a different perspective. Maybe Aiya come into alliance with Lepidus but switch to Octavian. Maybe brotherhood could join in with the final navy battle, maybe because of Aiya that make Cleopatra ship retreat without even engage leading to the victory of Octavian. So many opportunities

I actually know an AC fanfic called Assassin’s Creed: Empire that takes place during the Roman Empire during the rules of Claudius and Nero with the main protagonist being a Gladiator turned Assassin, and Nero being the main antagonist. And according to the authors, they plan to have a second story that takes place during the Year of Four Emperors and the Reign of Domitian.

It's such a shame that we never got a sequel featuring Bak and Aya after Origins! 😔 They could've been the ultimate power couple of ancient Rome! 🏛💑 Here's hoping Ubisoft listens to the fans and gives us a spin-off someday! 🤞🎮 #AssassinsCreedEvolutions Seriously, how cool would it have been to see Bak and Aya kicking Templar butt in ancient Rome?

I think AC Invictus might (I'm coping here) bring back Bayek and Amunet since it could be set in Ancient Rome, perhaps the multiplayer aspect that has been rumored could be the possibility of us being able to play both Bayek and Amunet as co-op (but with the way Ubisoft is, I highly doubt that they would even try it). Or maybe both Bayek and Amunet will be in or at least mentioned in the game. I personally think and hope that maybe the protagonist in Invictus is or might be Caesarion, son of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, who was saved by Amunet and taken to Rome and adopted into the Hidden Ones, which all happened in the Origins Comic starring Amunet. Maybe it's through Caesarion that we learn how to do social stealth and use tools like the Hidden Ones we see in Mirage. Or maybe everything I said is wrong and won't happen. But that's what I think.

Evolutions sounds exactly like a name Ubisoft would use. Lol. Also, Origins itself was a missed opportunity to tell another compelling modern day story. All we got was Layla, and there’s like nothing going on there. It could have been a true reboot leading to another modern day culmination story, which was really compelling, if a bit underdeveloped and rushed, in the 5 game Desmond arc. But hey, at least we’re past the Abstergo employee era of modern day arcs.

I always wondered why they didnt make the 'Ancient trilogy" . Would make sense both because people wanted to see continuation of bayek's story(Odyssey would still be how it is tho), and they could cleverly reuse the assets, unlike in Valhalla where they did it a lot but it didn't fit.

Origins 2: You play as Aya with slight overlap of Origins during the initial arc as she forms the Hidden Ones. You are tasked with building your hidden empire by recruiting through quests or sparing lower Order members. Have your choices matter with the culminating battle as help arrives. Have Bayek show up throughout the campaign to lend support. Show the struggles as their feelings for each other conflict with Aya's new purpose. Narratively cover failed stealth techniques and refinements/improvements on things that worked. Actually use outfits for stealth missions like Liberation tried. Origins 3: Aya and Bayek are older and now both running the Hidden Ones, though in Greece and Egypt respectively. They are attempting to retire and rekindle their romance. There is a schism in Rome with that chapter being led by a would-be emperor abusing his power. You play through Syndicate-style, switching between Bayek and Aya for different quests/story lines. Maybe have Kassandra play a mentor role for Aya. Training, sparring, leadership, etc. She introduces the role of the Hidden Ones as seekers and protectors of artifacts.

Most hardcore syndicate and origins fans like Jacob and Bayek best, because those two are the actual main protagonists of both games, and those two have more character depth and development. Evie and Aya are not and dont have much depth or development, even as evie had her own dlc that didn't change. So the trouble is when someone asks about an evie or aya sequal, is that none of the proper hardcore syndicate and origins fans are gonna want that. They want more storylines for Jacob and bayek. Making a story for eive or aya is gonna please people who aren't hardcore fans of Syndicate and origins. It's like making a haytham sequal instead of a Connor sequal, would upset AC3 hardcore fans, but please some people who didn't really love AC3 very much.

@kratosasura5875

Idk why but i really dont want a sequel for these characters, especially after that whole letter thing in ac valhalla and ofc with context to the statue at the auditore Villa. Post both dlcs amunet and bayek maintained a sorta healthy relation. The name of amunet as the leader of the hidden one goes out as bayek warns aya in the letter. Amunet becomes the sorta batman thingy where everyone knows shes around, except now shes a hidden one. Bayek serves the hidden ones as a true 'hidden one', working in the shadows developing the foundations of the creed. A new game for the characters could easily feel forced, especially with such fine characters. I'd say arno and connor are the ones desperately needing sequels as both of them had just come started to grow wiser by the end of their games. This is especially evident for arno wherein the dead kings dlc, he's rlly cool. Need to get to know more of that arno (same for jacob from the ripper dlc tho-) connor meanwhile had by the end of his game realized pretty much how everyone has their selfish goals and had come to terms with the whole isu story(burying the apple kinda showed that). Connor and arno would deffo be redeemed from being a over serious character(which i don't really agree upon) and as a 'simp' respectively. Goddamn did i rant on like a nerd💀

Here’s my second comment. Assassin’s Creed Odysee should’ve been a Bayek sequel set in Roman imperial Greece. The game could’ve been about The War of Actium, where Caesars successor and nephew Octavian is fighting for power in Rome. A power struggle between 2 wannabe emperors, Octavian and Mark Anthony (assisted by Cleopatra). The third game could be set in Rome itself, Octavian is successful and takes power, killing anyone who opposed him and officially starting the era of the Roman Empire and Pax Romana.

Ubisoft is the king of miss opportunities. Even in Odyssey, at the end of the first DLC we can see that the descendant of Kassandra is Arya. After this scene, a lot of people were expecting a game in Rome but Ubisoft said "Oh the Vikings serie is very popular, let's do a game". This is a reason why i don't like Valhalla. They destroyed a opportunitie to do a game in the Roman Empire with Arya and developed the characters. Btw, sorry for my bad english and lack of words sometimes 😁

@pgh3316
@pgh3316 4 ай бұрын
Seeing amunet in origins made me lose my shit, I had just replayed AC2 and went through amunet's tomb in that game. It was awesome and made me excited for maybe a series of games following or at least including all the characters who's accomplishments accumulated into Altair and his brotherhood. I thought a perfect next game or dlc would be playing as Aya/Amunet when she goes to assassinate Cleopatra with the snakes as they describe in AC2. That would've been badass, and taken place late enough after the Hidden Ones dlc to have some meaningful innovations to the brotherhood. When we were getting Odyssey and that was revealed to be in Greece I thought "HOLY SHIT DARIUS WAS IN AC2 AS WELL", but obviously that had nothing to do with odyssey until that awful dlc. I firmly believe in that game you should've played as Darius, or one of his accomplises at least, and either halfway through or at the end of the game invent the hidden blade and assassinated Xerxes (again, like described in AC2). To me, that's probably the biggest missed opportunity for all of Assassin's Creed because they LITERALLY MADE IT THE WORST DLC I'VE EVER PLAYED IN A GAME. Should've been the entire base game, but ubisoft blew it entirely. They had the idea, but instead of doing anything intelligent with it they treated it as a total afterthought and bastardized what could've probably been one of my favorite stories to play through in an rpg ac game. AC2 tombs/lore are RIGHT THERE and they had a perfect chance to expand on another character in a meaningful way within what could've been an understandable rpg style ac game, they already did it with Origins but fell flat at a perfect opportunity.

Ubisoft has absolutely no idea what to do with Assassin’s Creed. They retconned previously established lore in Origins for no reason, failed to deliver a Bayek sequel, delivered a bug filled Unity with a not so great narrative (gameplay was good though), Odysee was absolutely horrible, and Valhalla was just nonsense. Mirage wasn’t even that good to be honest. Now judging from the rumors with Assassin’s Creed Red, I’m not looking forward to it. A time jump to the 22nd century? For what? Female and Black protagonist (not that it’s an issue but we all know it’s for political brownie points). The last solid Assassins Creed game was 2, Ezio getting a trilogy may have been a mistake also, although I do love the character.

Because an Origins sequel would not make sense.

don't mind that butcher bloke, he is just a no one who spends all his hours stalking me to lie about me or bully me for the past few years! Sad really. I suggest avoiding him. Also he won't like anything you say unless it equates to "eivor is God and valhalla is the only good game." He's silly like that. Check his recent comments and you'll see.

Also I would add that Valhalla was certainly a good idea, but the canon version of eivor was a mistake. She inst a great protagonist like Aveline who is amazing and underrated, for example, and she feels wrong for eivor's character. Male eivor was better in this case. I get why people like kassandra but not female eivor or evie. Those two were just bad versions of male eivor and Jacob. That being said, it was odyssey that didn't make sense. If bayek and aya had a sequal and then we got Valhalla and mirage, THAT would have worked.

I know it's blasphemous to say but i really enjoy Odyssey. That being said I still wish there was a sequel with Bayek and I was disappointed there wasn't.

I liked Odyssey as well. But not as an AC game.

Good idea, but if it really happened, I'd like it to have less content than origins 'cause origins at one point (for me) got really boring and felt like a chore
