Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Lowlands Away gameplay

I couldn't find gameplay of this, and while hearing it is good, seeing it is better.
That being said, I apologize for some of the camera angles, but it's surprisingly difficult to get through a whole song without getting interrupted by one thing or another (at least, when you're actually trying to (see also: Murphy's Law)), so this is what you get.

Man the entire mission at Edward's mission in Syndicate made me depressed. Reading the documents and learning everything that happened to the poor sod, AFTER all the shit he went through and all the people he lost in Black Flag. The man never caught a damn break up until the day he was killed.

Because this shanty is so relatable to him. It's about a saikor who found out that the love of his life died whilst he was sailing at sea. Just like Edward found out his wife died when he was still out there pirating.

I have a theory about this particular song being used by Kenway in his mansion. My theory is he used that particular song in memory of his wife Caroline after he found out she had died while he was away. The reason I think this is because in almost all cutscenes involving Caroline she was dressed in white.

I never forget the moment that I heard this song for the very first time in the game... It hit me right in the feels and suddenly I was feeling the winds and smelling the sea. For that feeling alone this game has a special place in my heart.

That's true, I do actually prefer the immersion that's offered by the 1-less-than-Travel speed. However, a) it's slower, and if your goal is travel, faster is obviously better, and b) it's much easier to avoid things with the distant view that's offered by Travel Speed - and thus, easier to make a recording. ;)

+Lou the Lou I know it's for gameplay purposes, but the Jackdaw in full sail (1 less than travel speed) is ridiculously fast for a brig of her size. And yes, I know this thread is a year old... lol.

Ahh this game... my favourite game of all time. This video makes me feel so sad for some reason I guess it’s the memories, sailing the open seas with these beautiful sea shanties and playing this beautiful game.. good times. The memories are beautiful when u make then but the feeling when u think about them is just so sad. Everything about this game is just beautiful and perfect.

I swear they sing a different version than the one the game tells us. I'm looking at the in-game lyrics in the game right now and it does not match up at all except the lowlands away part
