I played n beat all of em besides Valhalla because that one had no feeling like an assassin just a damn warrior with Odin powers in the end like what 😂. But the parkour looks n seems stiff & wish they would use the parkour from unity. To me unity had the best parkour both climbing & climbing back down , was literally the best parkour I’ve felt on these games. Just felt more smooth imo. Just crazy how far AC has came. what is insane is that it apparently only takes one marketing video to make large parts of the community act like this will be the greatest game in the franchise. so far, they have shown little more than a reintroduction of gameplay systems from 10 years ago. How have they evolved them? Have they added new mechanics? Have they taken cues from Hitmans revolutionary social stealth? Have they overhauled the movement system to be less floaty and super human? Have they rethought climbing to make it more challenging? Will “fighting is his last resort” actually be reflected in a very low health pool? Will there be a morality system a la Dishonored or Red Dead? Will appreciated systems from Unity make a return? (Character customisation, Co-Op, Lighting, parkour nuances) Will the story writing be anywhere close to recent narratives? (Red Dead, God of War, The Last of Us) Will there be actual exploration like in Elden Ring or Ghost of Tsushima? Point is, will this be a return to the roots within a meaningful evolution of the franchise or will it be the same RPG map-marker marathon, like the recent games?

Why do parkour and environment's material properties still look the best in AC Unity? That game was ahead of its time that was ridiculed because it launched in an awful buggy state and CPU on most PCs and consoles were not powerful enough to handle the crowd system they had implemented. I played ACU a couple of years after release and that was the refinement of AC 1 and AC2 mechanics with better combat, and the best AC parkour system (even better than Mirage which still looks a bit unrealisitc and less fluid as it has some of their rpg ac's parkours aspects bleeding in). Story wasn't as great as the Ezio's trilogy but everything else was great. I especially loved the Nostradamus Enigmas murder mysteries.

Assassin's Creed: Mirage back to the roots ... welcome back home to the brotherhood. Finally, I could back to the AC that I always loved, desired, and wanted, after a long departure from the series since the RPG trilogy that began in Egypt back in 2017. I'm so excited for this one, and can't wait to play it. Please Ubisoft deal with it with the extreme care and caution that it deserves.

I prefer the RPG games but I grew up on the stealth games. Will definitely be kinda nice to go back to how it all started and be all stealthy and stuff. That said, I do prefer the more bombastic over-the-top RPG combat myself so I really am happy they've decided to also keep making those games. Now everyone gets what they want and we can all just stop fighting over preferences. Personally, I'm happy for all the stealth fans who have been begging for an oldschool experience with modern technology. It's been a long time. You guys deserve this one so enjoy. I know I will!

i agree with what you've said here and it's really cool to see someone mention unity in the comments; the game had such a botched release and some insane-looking graphical problems, but there were things the devs did in Unity that i liked. one of those was the balance you mentioned; a feeling of agency they provided me as a player in terms of how i could accomplish my goals. there were some great concepts in Unity that were buried by all the BS. if ubisoft actually has some follow through here with Mirage, they have the potential to recapture the hearts and minds of so many classic AC players (like myself) who have jumped ship in the past decade. (also, having multiplayer again would be awesome.)
