The official premiere of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla MAIN THEME.
Composed by Sarah Schachner and Jesper Kyd (featuring Einar Selvik of Wardruna).
Performed, produced, arranged and recorded by Sarah Schachner.
The theme carries the weight of protagonist Eivor’s personal conflicts and overarching journey throughout the game.
Sarah Schachner: "We wanted the main theme to simultaneously evoke feelings of uncertainty and hope, what I imagine many of these Vikings must have felt as they bravely sailed across the seas to an unknown fate,” Schachner said: “There is a building emotional tension throughout the arrangement, personifying Eivor’s epic journey.”
Jesper Kyd: “We focused on creating a melody and experience that connected deeply with the journey Eivor is on while using sounds that transport you into the Viking age”

@@ridalger16 Sadly me too. There is just no real depth in those Ubisoft games. I played the last two AC title's (each roughly 20h) and they were just bland end generic (especially the characters and the stories). Compared to The Witcher 3 which they are really, really hard trying to imitate is a huge gap in quality. This title song - on the other hand is really something. I really dig it.

@@hennie1311 unfortunately the OST doesn't make the game. AC is dead my friend. They should never have Kojima'd the original creator. If you want to support the guy who gave us AC, buy that Ape game called Human Odyssey

Einar Selvik isnt a videogame composer by trade, wardruna is a folk band separately and is the main focus of einar's career, he has done works for this game and the tv show vikings, but not much pop culture work

to be frank, I could have done very well without filler-music-schachner. Her music is competent but to me nothing more than decent filler music. she was involved in unity and origins and for the live of me, I don't remember any song in those games (same for all ACs after Black Flag to be honest), I remember the music of the Ezio Trilogy just fine though.

i was hesitant too. i heard this song, instantly pre-ordered gold edition for xbox one and xbox series x. the reason for this is that i have never played a bad game that had a beautiful soundtrack.

Newer AC games might not be your cup of tea but as a person who has played and owns all AC games, I enjoyed this new take from Ubisoft and AC-2, Odyssey and Origins are my favorite. And with Ashraf and his team, I have no doubt it'll be a masterpiece. However, Ubisoft needs to polish the graphics and some animations cux it's 2020 man. Even Origins had one of the best graphics of all time.

@@engrfka people forget how rocky the Origins demo build was when it was revealed. no doubt they will polish this to within an inch of its life. I'm not surprised so many people thought the demo was the finished project and started judging it on that. Also will probably be day 1 patches for stuff missed.

What a pleasant surprise to feel the elements in this music, and so many feelings... Many people expected a more noisy and warlike theme.. but Schachner, Kyd & Selvik are pure geniuses, they take their time to tell us the eventful story of Eivor.

This soundtrack is so uniquely different to the past AC themes.. AC 2-AC Rev=Main Ezio family theme which gave the feeling of redemption, justice for the family and the people AC 3 theme=Music gave us the feeling of the fight for freedom against oppressors, gives us the emotion of "FIGHT FOR FREEDOM" AC 4 Black Flag theme=The life of the pirate, calm in the first halfs like the ocean, and in chorus is hype as the clashing waters.. AC Rogue=Gave us the feeling of affirmation to your own creed, do not fear of what others believe, do what is right even if you're the villain in their eyes AC Origins theme=Gave the atmosphere and erie-ness of Egypt, the heavy feeling of revenge, honor, and perseverance.. AC Odyssey theme=Gave us the hype of Roman War, the thrill of glory in a victorious war Now to the main point, Valhalla main theme, we expected viking hype, a theme that will get out bloods pumping towards a war, a theme that will give us the viking feeling.. But no, Valhalla gave us something much more The feeling of the aftermath of a legendary war, but at great cost, victorious yet sorrowful in their loss, a miracle in episodes of tragedies.. The feeling of "Im about to fall to the ground any moment with my bloodied knees, showered with my own blood, but look at me, Im still standing..."

damn out of the north sounded so badass i thouight that was the main theme....this feels so different compared to the old themes...this has a mellow somber tone like the game is going to be dark and gloomy....all in all great theme no doubt

I sadly agree with you. Personally, it kinda annoys me, it feels to much... Maybe it's because 3 (2?) people worked on it not just one? I feel like they all wanted something epic and it's just a mix of different styles and they don't really harmonise with each other.... I mean Sarah's works(or even Jesper's) could be loud too, but there was always a theme, a concept what beautifully hold the music together, a specific core element so to say, or maybe just their own style... And that's missing here cause it's a lot of styles together...
