Hi! I am visual artist from Ukraine and my current big project is a series of Ball-jointed Dolls (BJD). I decided to share some parts of the process with you.
In this video I am sueding the doll joints, assembling and adding eyes, wig.
In the end I am playing with the doll a little to see here posing abilities. I am so happy with the results and excited to proceed to the next steps - blushing and creation of the outfit..

The doll is made from resin is Smooth-Cast 305

it must be such a very special feeling once your hard work is finally being visualized. Beautiful sculpt all around. such details must be hard to do. all the joints, balance, proportions and headsculpt

I have watched all your videos, and admire your abilities, its the aesthetic that troubles me... is a plastic doll or a porcelain doll better? I think you have gone to extraordinary lengths to achieve quality, probably more than a porcelain doll, in which the pouring appears to be a much simpler task.. so perhaps it is more difficult to caste resin than porcelain? for toy-like durability...or longevity.. what are your thoughts?

Hi! Thank you❤️ well I didn’t try cast porcelain dolls, so I can’t tell you if it’s harder. When I chose resin I honestly thought it’s easier that it turned out to be:) so I definitely think that there’re pitfalls in porcelain casting also.. and it will take time to master the skills.
