My tires were super difficult to get onto the rim so i found that it makes less off a mess to do a dry fit first then remove the valve core and put sealant directly in through the rim. (also if the tyres are not seating, splash some soapy water onto the bead, it helps a lot)

I ride the trails on the weekends when it is nice out. I would love to own a 20 pound mountain bike. Regardless i will never stop riding, il be riding forever. Keep up the awesome videos. 🤘

Mtb that are around pounds are what the pros use and are very pricey! I'm 39 and ride often. A hard tail maybe a bit lighter and you can ride a lot of stuff with the new geometry on them now. I have a orbea Loki! I have ridden black diamond trails with it! Yes I am sure the rear shock would help a lot but it's still doable on the hardtail! 27.5+ tire helps me a bunch! My point is there maybe other options to choose from! Do the research for what you need and get! Keep rocking the mtb everyday bro! Stay safe and have fun!
@samwebb585
@samwebb585 5 жыл бұрын
Wade, super stoked you're excited to ride! It can be so easy to get caught up on gear, but as long as your bike fits and is safe, it's a great start! I've ridden red / black trails on a rigid, steel framed 27.5+ tyre mountain bike without any issue - it wasn't comfy but it was a laugh! While you're getting into riding, just focus on your fitness and rehabilitating injuries and then when you feel your bike reaches its limit before you do, it becomes time to upgrade. Until then just enjoy it!!!

Thank you. I bought my wife a bike from REI for our anniversary that said it could be shipped to our house with "minimal assembly required." We are both fairly handy but don't know much about bike maintenance. The written instructions provided from REI were absolute garbage, and the photocopied photographs were pretty much indecipherable. Your video let us put together her bike (hopefully) correctly and without any drama.

Petro~Jelly actually works, if you take it (the bike) apart after a few "wet rides", lolz - but really: take it BACK APART within 3~4 "hard rides", bwahaha; but seriously... Please take the sh*t BACK APART & use some real synthetic grease made just for bikes, or *_REALLY CHEAP $.99 cent 'brake job packs'_* of *anti-sieze* *anti-gall* or just "anti-freakin'-one piece of metal stuck to another' synthetic grease/lube... Trust me, you'll be happier if you just get some cheap anti-sieze, synthetic grease $.99 cent packs at the auto parts store. They're generally right up at the front counter where you check out. *_I personally have all the Park/Pedro's/ViperLube/WTF'ever, but you don't *_need_* all that! The auto parts store versions can't hurt ANYTHING on your Mountain Bike -- other than PLACES YOU SHOULDN'T PUT SLIPPERY CRAP on your d*mn bike. Peace Out.

Riding With The Reid's He already covered this topic in his older videos. I remember he made a video converting his High Roller tires on his Trek 4900 - good ol times when he had absolutely no sponsors at all. Later on I think he made 1 how-to video and 1 more that was pretty much a Slime advertisement video. You should really watch his first 30-40 videos, there is some pretty good shit in there.

Removing the valve stem and inflating the tire to bed it in and then adding sealant through the valve is a far easier way to do tubeless i found
@PedallingwithPaul
@PedallingwithPaul 5 жыл бұрын
I agree 100% on that. In the case that some tires are a real pain to seat(mostly new unmounted tires) if you already have sealant in the tire it would suck to put a tube in the help seat one side.
@maxwelllantz7293
@maxwelllantz7293 5 жыл бұрын
I also agree, but with some brands ( such as slime) you get little chunky bits that can get stuck in the valve. But for Stan’s sealant, this technique works great

Just today i've agreed to buy my friend's Scott scale 50 and i'm going to swap some parts from my older but still in great knick Scott YZ1 and make a bit of a mongrel bike, i'm a lapsed rider and hasn't done any for a few years now so all this info is invaluable. Also it's bittersweet buying my friends bike as he was one year older than me and he died just 2 months back from a drug overdose and i'm helping his mother go through his stuff and try and give and get her some money for it all, but i can't wait to get riding again, and i'm sure he'd be happy i'm getting his beloved bike.

I haven’t ridden enough of them to tell, but in general every company has sort of an equivalent competitor in that price range. Get something popular in your region since it’ll likely be suited to the terrain there. Also, you can leverage other riders’ knowledge for repair and setup tips.

Just so Everyone knows (Seth you may want to pin this) Diamondback does not include this took kit with all their bikes. I just purchased a Diamondback bike (more expensive than one in this video) and it did not include any of these items. No torque wrench, no shock pump, no valves, not even a spare derailleur hanger?! Just so people dont have their hopes up...

I am in College and working part time at a not so great paying job and both my wife and I are riding $3000+ full sus carbon bikes. I have multiple friends in the same senario. It's mostly about priorities. I could probably afford a nicer car or go out for more dates if I didn't bike, but we decided bikes we're more important for us. Thinking you have to be a dentist to buy a $2,000 bike is silly. $10,000 and you might have a point, but 2g is less then your average rider spends here in utah, and most bikers just have regular jobs. It's all about what you prioritize.
