Hi Steve, I've either been away from sim racing, or on other titles since you heard from me last. I've decided to commit more time and resources though, for 2023. I've re-newed my computer, and am toying with the possibility of one of the upmarket VRs. Your views on the current state of VR? Try and brake going strait with little to no tail braking.

I was only trail breaking very little. The rear tires wear faster then the front on the Audi, so if you do a lot of trail braking you will wear the rear tires out even faster. The car has plenty of rotation without any trail braking. 🙂👍

also you can turn TC2 off.. Its not needed for this car..

Well if you don't need TC2 why not just run the first EVO as that is one of the improvements with the EVO 2.

@@sky194 I always kept it on until I watched a few of the eSports drivers who used it with it off. Don't get me wrong depending on conditions it can be helpful. Like in the wet. But on dry tracks the same thing can be accomplished with damping adjustments!!. One of the most confusing things about the Evo2 is the wide range in it's aggressive set ups. Some go as far as .25 toe on the rear. I think that's Laguna. Then on tracks like Paul Ricard it's 60/60 ride height with 1 wing same with Monza but 0 wing. Bathurst has the front ride height high also. On almost every track with the exception is Paul Ricard and Monza I use 62 rear ride height and 55/56 front with a soft bump stop in the rear and a few adjustments in the damping(using Motec) to make it more stable over curbs. This allows for more travel in the rear suspension allowing for more grip in the corners. This allows TC2 to be turned off. No one used this car for a good 2 months when it first came out cause people didn't understand it! I still feel it's under utilized. Personally I've set all my personal best in this car. For me it's probably the most stable car in the game with it's short wide wheel base. That's the biggest difference between the Evo and Evo2. The change in the wheel base dimensions.

@Rank is dumb I think you are gonna find that with the new update some of these esport and other wonky setups will not work. I have tried a few paid setups for the Porsche and they where awful, but to some they must work.

Youre definitely making it more complicated then it needs to be with setting up the Evo 2. Ive driven this car more then any other and i can honestly say its as stable as stable can be with only minor adjustments.. I almost never change the Mechanical grip settings.. When i do its to get a tad more rotation on corner entry. The care is extremely well balanced... If you set up 21 Race weekends vs the AI with qualifying the Audi Evo 2 would be the fastest AI car 19/21 times. Thats why i stared using it. The biggest key is when you shift.. There's zero reason to go above 8,000 rpm and many times you get better acc shifting at 7850 7900.. over 8000 your HP and torque drop off drastically.

@@sky194 1.9 has made the way the car needs set up pretty ridiculous. I'm not one to use physics exploits but the only way I can figure out how to make the car stable is by using positive toe on the front. Negative on the back and a major increase in caster. Personally I feel this update was a huge mistake. The game is already extremely difficult for the average sim racer with online lobbies full of drivers spinning out on half the corners as it was. Now the stock aggressive set ups are useless on many cars. You can't go and change the entire physics model and keep the stock aggressive set ups designed for the old physics model. Kunos dropped the ball on this one cause they were to worried about eSports guys and others using unrealistic set ups. Unfortunately with the new physics/tire model unrealistic set ups will be required vs optional. With the old physics model it was pretty easy to make a few adjustments to the damping and maybe a click up or down here and there in the mechanical grip section and post quick times. For example using basic stock aggressive set ups with very minor adjustment to the damping my in race lap times were Barcelona 1:44 Bathurst 2:03 high 2:02s Weather tech 1:23 Imola 1:41 Kyalami 1:41 Donnington 1:27 Hungaroring 1:44 Brands Hatch 1;23 always struggle here Paul Richard 1:54/55 My lap times were realistic compared to real life using what was basically the stock aggressive set up with a few minor adjustments.. when I say minor I mean minor. A click up or down in the damping section. No ridiculous toe or caster changes. I practiced on Hungaroring last night and needed to make ridiculous changes like positive .16 toe on the front with 14.3 caster vs the -1 toe and 12.4 caster that's stock aggressive. The audi Evo 2 has stock aggressive set ups that use .25 toe in the rear to help with extra rotation due to it's short wheel base. Now using that toe will create a massive difference in temps across the tire. I had core tire temperatures that ranged from 60 to 90 with this new tire model.. I have to use 0-15 for the bump stop when the Audi uses 20-70 in the rear on it's stock aggressive set up. Kunos took a good game that was being exploited by a few and made it so it needs to be exploited by all in many of the cars to put up competitive times.
